1. Thank you, Mirone! IOreg: ionml.ioreg.zip Virgin DSDT (about this dsdt, since it was pre-made for the insanelymac 1201n topic, it's really not untouched, but it's the DSDT that enable the machine to boot as is): dsdt.aml.zip Best regards!
2. Thank you very much, Mirone! Unfortunately, with the latest files, i not only don't hav HDMI audio, but i also don't have audio at all: - No inputs or outputs in System Preferences: - Only a few jacks listed in System Report. No HMDI outs: Best regards and thanks again!
3. Thank you very much, Mirone! Just tested it! Still, no HDMI audio, but some interesting things happened: - For the first time, HDMI audio appeared in System Report: - Plugging the HDMI conector automatically set up my external monitor as the primary one: - In System Preferences, though, no luck: Best regards!
4. I tried this solution to no avail: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/270370-guide-asus-at5iont-i-deluxe/#entry1801249 The problem seems to be that patch follows a discrete HDMI audio pattern (Device (POP6), HDAU) while my graphics card is built-in (curiously, the ION graphics on the machine shown there is also built-in, but luckily for him, the patch worked anyway). Looking at my currently stable DSDT (the one edited by Mirone for ALC 269), i found this: Device (IGPU) { Name (_ADR, Zero) Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized) { Store (Package (0x18) { "@0,compatible", Buffer (0x0B) { "NVDA,NVMac" }, "@0,device_type", Buffer (0x08) { "display" }, "@0,name", Buffer (0x0F) { "NVDA,Display-A" }, "@1,compatible", Buffer (0x0B) { "NVDA,NVMac" }, "@1,device_type", Buffer (0x08) { "display" }, "@1,name", Buffer (0x0F) { "NVDA,Display-B" }, "NVCAP", Buffer (0x18) { /* 0000 */ 0x04, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x01, 0x00, /* 0008 */ 0x0E, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x0A, /* 0010 */ 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00 }, "VRAM,totalsize", Buffer (0x04) { 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x10 }, "device_type", Buffer (0x0C) { "NVDA,Parent" }, "model", Buffer (0x15) { "NVIDIA GeForce 9400M" }, "rom-revision", Buffer (0x0F) { "62.79.65.00.00" }, "hda-gfx", Buffer (0x0A) { "onboard-1" } }, Perhaps something is missing among the lines i highlighted? Say, a layout id or something like that... Best regards!
5. Hi all! I have an Asus EeePC 1201n. A gorgeous machine, it combines very low power consumption and dual-core power, making it a netbook above its category, even better than its sucessor, also branded 1201. With the help of Mirone, who patched the AppleHDA for ALC269, my machine has now native audio support. But HDMI audio was out of the scope of work developed in the AppleHDA support topic, so he linked me to this external thread: http://www.tonycrapx86.com/hdmi-audio/70765-mountain-lion-hdmi-audio.html I'm not unskilled at all in both hex and dsdt edit, so i tried my luck. The problem is, this guide, following the strict hardware support policy of tonycrap's, has the option of enabling HDMI for Intel integrated graphics and for nVidia (and ATI) discrete graphics, but not for my very peculiar one: a nVidia integrated graphics card. I tried the patches anyway, both for nVidia (discrete) and Intel (integrated): no dice. So i came here again, hopeful some of the dsdt wizards of the Olarila community can help me again. Here's the link Mirone provided me for the dsdt.aml and the AppleHDA.kext he made for me. Any help would be very much appreciated: http://www.sendspace.com/file/kr75pt Thank you very much!
6. Thank you very much again, Mirone! I'll will post the due credits, be sure, and will even link your posts so no doubt is left. A question: why is so difficult to patch ALC 269 codecs? I tried to do it by myself and failed miserably, despite my earlier success with other codecs. Your help save the day for me. Downloaded the IOAUDIO, thanks! Will test it immediately. Best regards!
7. P.P.S.: It is broken indeed: tried from other computers, and all i got is this: CloudApp Sorry, no drops live here. Perhaps the link you clicked was broken or the owner of this drop has deleted it.
8. I'll try both fixes, Mirone! Thank you very much, man: you're the best! Hey, can i post your latest kext+DSDT in this topic? http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/264740-asus-1201n-installation-and-support/ The solutions there are quite outdated and doesn't work anymore. As a side note, i'm on 10.8.3, so your method is update-proof: congratulations. Best regards! P.S.: the link for the kext appears to be broken
9. Hi, Mirone! Thank you for answering so quickly! I think we're almost there: 1) Working: microphones, line-in, internal speakers and headphones work like a charm! In System Preferences, the port shows up with the name of the device used, except for line-out, which is recognized by the system as a headphone, but i suppose it will work just like the other two outputs(don't have the external speaker to test it right now). Pictures attached: 2) Not working yet: HDMI audio won't even show up in System Preferences, even after i connect the HDMI cable to my hack. Also, when i wake it from sleep, the computer will have no sound at all. Again, thank you very much, Mirone!
10. Hi, Mirone! Good morning! With that latest HDA+DSDT, no dice: no sound, none of the outs appear in System Preferences, no HDMI sound support. Pictures attached. Thank you very much indeed!
11. Hello, Mirone! Thank you very much for the files: your work is really awesome. They work partially, as can be seen in the pics attached: line-in neither works nor appears in System Preferences. Line-out doesn't appear also, but internal speakers are working loud and and clear, and internal microphone also does fine. Tested HDMI also, no sound and the option doesn't appear in System Preferences. Pictures: Best regards!
12. Hi! Here's the Linux codec dump, in the .zip file attached. Thank you very much indeed! codec_dump.txt.zip
13. Hi, Mirone! How are you? Sorry for that, i didn't know there was a difference. Gonna post it here in a few minutes. Best regards!
14. Hi, Mirone! How are you? First of all, thanks for the first AppleHDA you patched for me: still works like a champ through all updates. Really a winner. I got a new laptop, and again it has ALC269 (please see txt attached, from a VoodooHDA dump). Then i tried the kext+dsdt you made for me, and obviously they didn't work (but i had to try, hehehe). So i'm on square one with this notebook, an Asus 1201n (a gorgeous netbook for hackintoshing, by the way: dual core Atom, Ion graphics that give full QE/CI, only had to replace the stock wireless by a AR9285). I need your help again, if i'm not crossing the line asking it again. I attached the codec dump, as said, and my dsdt. As you will see, the hardware is a little different, since it also has HDMI, thanks to the Ion system: is it possible to achieve audio through HDMI? It would be really awesome. Here's the files: dump and dsdt.zip Thank you very much in advance, Mirone!
15. Hi, Mirone! Sorry not to answer before: did a little two-day travel and took my netbook with me. The good news is that so far, everything is working like a charm: you really did an amazing job! I just tested your kext to have sound-after-wake fixed, and it worked too. Thank you very much indeed! Don't forget to tell me when your guide is out!
16. Really? Thank you very much! I'll choose a perfectly working system over an almost perfectly working system any time!
17. Did a long set of tests now. First of all, thank you very much for time you (are) spent (spending) on this. Microphones (internal) checked with Skype and Garageband: fully working, good sound quality, no hum. Line-in checked also with Garageband: recorded with acceptable sound quality (not the highest possible, but i blame my sound card, not the kext, since that was the quality i had also with Windows7). Going to test with Amplitube on another occasion (not possible now, the installation seems to have been broken when i update to 10.8.2). Headphones: working like a charm. Alternance between Headphones/Speakers when i connect/disconnect the headphones: worked just fine without hangs or delays. Speakers: worked like a charm, except if i put the computer to sleep, if i do it, i won't have sound on my speakers when i wake my netbook (i consider this a minor issue, since sleep itself has its issues here so i rather don't use it at all). Of course i'll need to test for some hours and maybe for some days to see if results are really consistent. By now, what i can say is way to go, Mirone! You did a hell of a good job!
18. Just made a quick session of tests: apparently, everything's working just fine. Will do an in-deep testing when i get home, but i'm 99% convinced that this time everything is working just the way it should! Thank you!
19. I think you did it, Mirone! :D (screenshots attached) I can't test it extensively right now - i'm on a bus, lol - but everything seems to work now. Thank you so much, man! I'll do better tests later. Waiting for the guide! Looking at the prospect of getting my AMD hack's Via 17xx to work - i don't really need it since i use HDMI sound, but i want to learn the trick of doing it Archive.zip
20. The line-in input and external mic input both use the same jack in my netbook (even in windows). Thank you once again, Mirone: just downloaded the new files, i'm going to test them right now and report back.
21. Almost there, Mirone! Now the opposite is happening: all outs are working like a charm, but i lost my line-in jack (my internal mic, though, is work like a champ, like never before). Thank you very much!
22. Mirone, now we've got at the gates of success here! 95% working! Both built-in and external mic working like a boss! (screenshot attached) Both the headphones and speakers appears either in System Preferences or clicking+option at the speaker icon (screenshot attached) but only the headphones actually output sound. The speakers are always silent no matter the setup. Skype detects this correctly - on it, only the headphones option is shown (screenshot attached). Thank you very much indeed for you effort, man! You're being really cool! Archive.zip
23. Hi, Mirone! Well, with this new kext/dsdt i got no sound again. Nothing works (as you can see in the Skype preferences screenshot) but the internal microphone appears in System Preferences for the first time (screenshots attached). Thank you very much! Archive.zip
24. If i get my mic and line-in jack working, this will really be very nice and help me a lot! Thank you very much indeed, Mirone, for all the work you've been doing!
25. No, unfortunately the mics don't work at all, either the built in or the external mic jack To clarify, none of my sound inputs work. However, the sound outputs (speaker, headphone jack) both work like a champ. About the headphones/speakers issue, i just realized it (screenshot attached) so it does not bother me Thank you very much, Mirone! Screen Shot 2012-11-07 at 11.40.47 PM.png.zip
