  1. Hello, I want to redo my hardware and software from the ground up. I want to keep three OS'es on Ivy Bridge: - Mavericks, because it's the last OS X I can't complain about - Mojave, because it's the last OS X with 32 bit support - Monterey, because it's the last OS X for Ivy Bridge Unfortunately, if I ask in other forums the result are only discussions why not switching to OpenCore. It's simply because it works. All my hardware is supported. Monterey is working on Clover 5141, I have 5161. I'm using Legacy BIOS on these mainboards. One of my Ivy Bridge boards still has a floppy and Windows XP for my retro computers. So it's not neccessary to switch to OpenCore. On my newer boards I will use it, of course. The mainboard is a Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H. I have everything working, including Broadcom 94352HMB WLAN/Bluetooth and an old Asus U3S6 SATA3/USB3 card. It has a PCI-E x4 connector and contains a Marvell 88E9120 and a NEC uPD720200 USB 3.0 controller. These are requiring AHCI_3rdParty_SATA.kext and mXHCD.kext. I had this card already working in Leopard, on my old Asus A8N-SLI Premium (AMD Socket 939) the controller is detected in BIOS and is bootable. Using ssdtPRGen.sh I generated a dsdt.aml for my CPU, so I don't get the unknown cpu 0x3a message during boot. The CPU and the speed is not shown correctly in 'About this Mac', but this can be patched. I'm using the iMac13,1 SMBIOS, this is the best for my Core i7 3770S with a TDP of 65W. My Sapphire GPRO 4200 (Single-Slot, Low-Profile, 4x Mini-DP, 4 GB GDDR5) is displayed correctly, I tested a three-monitor setup successfully. Mavericks and Mojave are both working perfectly, the Mojave installer is waiting. On InsanelyMac somebody used Monterey on a HFS+ partition, I also wanted to try this. I created on my MacBookPro11,5 an USB SSD with zwei 40 GB partitions, one APFS and one HFS+. I installed Monterey until the setup wizard started. Then I shut off the computer, booted in Sonoma and copied all Monterey files to the HFS+ partition: sudo ditto -V <source_volume> <target_volume> After this I connected this SSD to Mavericks and created an image of the HFS+Monterey. So I always have a fresh installer. The advantage of having Monterey on HFS+ is no annoying r/w mounting. All files and folders are available from Mavericks and Mojave. The Monterey installer starts to boot, but I got a Kernel panic at AppleAHCIPort.kext. Several people also had an panic at AppleSMC.kext, this one wasn't listed. I have all Monterey kexts in /System/Library/Extensions. After I copied them also to Library/Extensions, I get a panic at AppleAHCIdriver, AppleAHCIPort.kext is gone. Mavericks and Mojave are detecting if new kexts are added, Monterey doesn't. Is there a method to rebuild the kextcache from another volume? For testing purposes I have a working Mavericks, Mojave, Monterey and Sonoma. In the attachment are the last Monterey panic, the kextlist and my Clover 5161 config.plist. Like I said, everything is working, but maybe some boot args are wrong. I'm searching for Clover_r5141.pkg. I want to test this version, but don't find it. Greets, naquaada. GA-Z77M-D3H.zip

  2. I can only boot with the model types iMacPro1,1. I tested iMac17.1, iMac18.1, iMac18,2 and iMac 18,3. It's immediately stopping at the black Apple stop sign screen. Can you check the config file? I guess the problem is wrong configuration. The boot-args are -v dart=0 darkwake=0 forceRenderStandby=0 igfxmpc=1 igfxonln=1 alcid=52 watchdog=0 agdpmod=vit9696 keepsyms=1 swd_panic=1 I guess there also too much entries. Alcid=52 is the correct layout id for this board. What about the csr-active-config? I have FF0F0000 now. And why are NVME devices listed as SATA? I never found infos about that.
  3. Hello, I have a Asus Prime 270-K with an Intel i7 7700. The SMBIOS in OpenCore is set to iMacPro1,1. Sonoma is working well, the CPU name is shown. But I have a few remaining problems. - No NVME devices listed, NVME SSDs are shown as SATA - Black Screen after Sleep - Only HDMI is working I searched lots of topics, but the most of them are very old. So many infos but nothing worked. I'm also afraid that the lots of patches I added are resulting in conflicts. After patching the framebuffer I got heavy graphics errors, but two different screens on DVI and HDMI. The DVI screen is in 4:3 format. It is the mainboards primary port, because the image on the HDMI screen is stretched. The last port is VGA. The video mem size ist set to 128 MB. I added my EFI folder. Any help is appreciated. 4. Hi, I've got these problems with two Dell devices, could they fixed by a modified dsdt? Dell Inspiron 7720: Intel HD4000 HDMI not working, Battery not correctly calculated, switches off without warning at about 7%. I heard SD-card readers can be made useable by a dsdt patch. Dell XPS One A2420: No fans detected, graphics card (9600 GT M MXM2) doesn't decrease clock speed and gets very hot (>70°C), no sleep. Greets, naquaada.
