[Help] Booting installer with new Alienware m17 r4 (2021)

I was only able to boot the installer by removing -wegnoegpu flag. It doesn't feel right :S Seems like it's using the Nvidia instead of the IGPU -

17,3" FHD (1920x1080) 144Hz EFI: https://www.sendspace.com/file/ulp7ol config.plist.zip -
Specs 32 Go, mémoire DDR4, 2 933 MHz 2xSSD 1TB WD Black SN750 Carte graphique NVIDIA® GeForce RTX 3080, 16Go GDDR6 (Disabled -wegnoegpu) NIC Killer Ethernet E3100X 10/100/1000Mbit/s/2,5Gbit/s Wi-Fi 6 AX1650 (802.11ax) 2x2 LAN sans fil et Bluetooth 5.1 Intel® Core i7-10870H 17,3" FHD (1920x1080) 144Hz Hi, This isn't my first hackintosh but I must admit i'm kind of stuck. I attached my EFI. I followed the OpenCore Guide. I used at first like recommeded by the guide 0x3EA50009 but I had the feeling I was stuck in verbose mode because of a black screen. The last verbose line was half printed, it felt like it. I went on and tried 0x3EA50009 but added device-id 0x01234567 and I ended up there IOControlUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3, ... Any help would be very appreciated Also, when OpenCore guide mentions a quirk for Dell, I should assume it's true for Alienware too, right?

Hi, I would like to know if it's possible to get Bluetooth working for Lenovo ThinkCentre m90q: Specs - Intel Chipset Q470 - Intel Core i7-10700 (vPro) - 20 GB RAM (Left original 4GB + Added 1x Crucial 16GB) - SSD Nvme WD Black SN750 (Replaced original NVMe PM991) - 1x HDMI Port - 2x DP Port (Added 1 optional in the customization process on lenovo website) The wireless card is an Intel AX201. I was able to get wifi working using this driver https://github.com/OpenIntelWireless/itlwm (although it's limited to 25 mbps in speed) but I wasn't able to get the Bluetooth recognized. @MaLd0n If you are willing to, I still havn't figured out how to do kext blocking. I don't think it's currently possible
-
I do see in Clover Configurator --> Kernel and Kext Patches a tab ForceKextsToLoad. Assuming it's in Clover EFI 'other' folder, what would be the proper path? /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/IONVMeFamily.kext ? /EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/IONVMeFamily.kext ? Also, how do I a block a kext from s/l/e to load? Thank you James
-
@MaLd0n No success

I can try older versions, but NVMeFix doesn't fix compatibility with Hynix SSD, it's not what it's meant for. This is why I would like to try to downgrade the IONVMeFamily kext to an older version
-
Thanks for the quick reply, I already tested this kext and I still get the kernel panic: https://github.com/acidanthera/NVMeFix/releases/tag/1.0.5 Do you know if it's possible to use an older IONVMeFamily kext like I asked? Thank you
-
I dont't see why it wouldn't work. Please follow the tutorial

Hi, This SSD is known to be incompatible, however there are few existing patches for 10.15 and 10.14.0. <dict> <key>Comment</key> <string>IONVMeFamily patch for SSD Liteon etc. (c)jief_machak</string> <key>Disabled</key> <false/> <key>MatchOS</key> <string>10.15.x</string> <key>Name</key> <string>com.apple.iokit.IONVMeFamily</string> <key>Find</key> <data>D4NOAQAA</data> <key>Replace</key> <data>kJCQkJCQ</data> </dict> <dict> <key>Comment</key> <string>(10.14.0) IONVMeFamily: Ignore FLBAS bit:4 being set - for Plextor/LiteOn/Hynix</string> <key>Disabled</key> <false/> <key>Name</key> <string>IONVMeFamily</string> <key>Find</key> <data>ikga9sEQ</data> <key>Replace</key> <data>ikga9sEA</data> </dict> I can't boot the Big Sur installer right now because of an IONVMeFamily.kext kernel panic so I was wondering if there was a way to reuse the attached kext and the patch from 10.14 to boot the installer. Thank you James IONVMeFamily_10.14.kext.zip

A DP to HDMI WAVLINK 4K@60Hz adapter worked perfectly. Problem solved ! -

That is synonym of buying a new 28 inches 4k monitor which I don't consider as an option. So when we say RX 580 are 'natively' supported, they are pretty much just like Intel IGPU. They half work hahaha -

So it does not, even tried 50 Hz which isn't a custom resolution and it still does it Edit: it does have an impaan. 60 Hz: Happens a lot. Almost every 2 minutes 50 Hz: Almost every 5 minutes? 30 Hz: Looks ok. is there a way to fix this? -

I only own a single 4K HDMI 2.0 cable, but it's brand new and I remember I had the same issue before when I was using this computer at work (with Catalina). Last week I went back to work office and took the computer home with me because I work from home now (because of the situation of the Covid 19). At work it was connected on different monitors (still 4k though) and with different cable and it was doing the same over HDMI, but not DP. Sadly my DP port is broken on my monitor so I only have the HDMI left. Edit: Using SwitchResX, I created a custom resolution with the refresh rate to 58Hz instead of 60 in 4k. I will see if the lower output fix the trouble and report back. -

Thanks ! I can see VDADecoding is fixed and Clover was updated too Question 1: I was suprised to see my USB SSDT patch gone, it seems it's now incorporated in DSDT.aml? If I ever want to update these port mapping (I highly doubt it), can it still be done? Question 2: I have 2 monitors 4K 27/28 inches. One is Display Port the other is HDMI 2.0. They both works perfectly in 4K@60FPS. However, the HDMI monitor randomly goes black for 1 or 2 seconds and power back up. Is there a way to fix this? (It was doing it before your fix too). You mean that " igfxonln=1" will fix the blackscreen with an hyphen? I doubt it, when it happens, it still feels we are inside Clover. It's before the OS start booting right after I press enter on the partition. That hyphen appears where Couldn't allocate runtime area used to be. About OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi, you are right I no longer use it, seems like "OpenRuntime.efi" get things done, however just like it used to be with OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi, i'm still having random boot fail. If I get the OS start booting it always boot, it's leaving Clover that seems to be the painful part. -

Before I see your new reply, I removed USBInjectAll 0.7.1 from ReHabMan and installed USBInjectAll 0.7.5 from Sniki and it started working ! I could generate my USB SSDT I'm waiting for my new GPU to come and then I will kindly ask you what's the best config for my Hackintosh Currently it's fully working except for one annoying bug. In Clover, I select boot "Macintosh HD from Preboot" (Verbose) and then there is 2 behaviors: 1. Goes to black screen and display few lines of text and then start booting Mac OS 2. Goes to a black screen and display only one character '-' and sit there forever. When that happens I need to power off the computer and try again. In the past, with Catalina, I used to have "Couldn't allocate runtime area" error randomly and also I was forced to use OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi. -

What is the kext used for ? Is it the same as USBInjectAll? Is there a way to do it without downgrading to Catalina? -
Hi, I'm currently struggling getting my port mapping working. XHCI Port Limit quirk doesn't do anything about the 15 port limit and USBInjectAll seems to have no effect. I'm only getting my HS ports detected in HackinTool so I tried to discover my SS port by booting with '-uia_exclude_hs ui_include=HS08' but it seems to have no effect.
