Successful 10.8.2 Update. Had to replace AppleACPIPlatform.kext[1.3.5] to boot after update. Should install AppleHDA.kext ,AppleSmartBatteryManager.kext again if you use it. P.S No change in Open GL scores with new Nvidia drivers - Same low scores as I have posted here - http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1839

AppleGraphicsPowerManagement (AGPM) for nVidia
indiandragon replied to oldnapalm's topic in Guides and Tutorials
Hi oldnapalm, Like always an excellent guide. But seems like my Nvidia 8600 M GT (256MB) is giving low performance since 10.8.1 update, I patched AGPM and G states seems to be working but performance is still very low compared to 10.8.0 any suggestions ? This is my Open GL results with 10.8.0 (Non patched AGPM) This is my Open GL results with 10.8.1 (Patched AGPM) [slightly better results than 10.8.1 without patched AGPM] This is my kernel Log right after Open GL Test Sep 14 22:20:06 localhost kernel[0]: AGPM: GPU = VID G-state set to 0 from 0, ControlID = 17. Aurtur, Nice, Nvidia looks good. Will check. I am following that thread, thanks. Do you have an idea on how to disable ATI Graphics ?
-
Hi artur, Thanks for your reply. But I don't want to disable HD3000, I want to disable ATI or Nvidia is it possible with DSDT ? or is it un necessary when you have MacBookPro 8,2 SMBios.plist ?
-
Hi Cassio, Just curious to know, If a laptop has switchable graphics (ATI+HD 3000) and no option in BIOS to change them. Can we disable the ATI in DSDT to allow the usage of only HD 3000? Sorry I don't speak portugese. Thanks.

Guys, since OSX Mountain Lion brings in native USB3.0 support, did any one try the seagate USB 3.0 upgrade cable package with express card adapter? According to seagate KB (http://knowledge.seagate.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/217951en#13) , The Express card Adapter would provide USB 2.0 speeds in OSX as there was no USB 3.0 support, but since now we have USB 3.0 support does the adapter work and give better speeds than before . I know the limitations of Express card bandwidth, and that it cannot give full USB 3.0 speeds for PCI based express card but a USB 3.0 support means a definitely higher speed for my 1TB seagate GoFlex Freeagent HDD. Awaiting Reply !! P.S (No, eSATA does not work for my HDD. Sadly )

Hi, I upgraded to recent Parallels Desktop -7.015104 rev 778994 on my Mountain Lion, I updated/reinstalled/delete-install parallel tools for my guest OS's (Windows,Ubuntu ) but could not get the trackpad/mouse/keyboard working in Full screen and Modality mode. Unlike others trackpad/mouse/keyboard works fine in coherence mode for me. Did any one else have this issue ? I had a fully working parallels on my 10.7.4, I feel it has something to do with ApplePS2Controller ? Has anyone else faced this issue ? Come on guys.

No QE/CI in Mountain Lion Retail for Nvidia 8600m
indiandragon replied to indiandragon's topic in Mountain Lion (10.8)
Hi, Sorry it was me who messed up installation by deleting Geforce* kexts during install and did not back up. Second install gave me perfect Graphics. So, QE/CI works perfect in 8600m with GraphicsEnabler=Yes,PCIRootID=0, npci=0x2000 and Latest Chameleon. Thanks for your help Cassio. -
No QE/CI in Mountain Lion Retail for Nvidia 8600m
indiandragon replied to indiandragon's topic in Mountain Lion (10.8)
Thanks for the quick reply, you are right. I think I deleted the Geforce kexts when I deleted NVDA* kexts as I was not able to boot to the graphics install screen . Then after install I had the same problem so, I deleted /S/L/E and copied S/L/E from the USB HDD. So thats why I do not have Geforce kexts, but to my wonder I tried to get the Geforce kexts from my original mountain lion Install App downloaded from Mac App Store by restoring BaseSystem.dmg to a USB HDD and I did not find any Geforce kexts in /S/L/E !! guide me cassio . -
