G5rebuilder Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 (edited) Hi, In 2018, I put together a Hackintosh, as Apple-compatibel as I could find: Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Gaming 5 Corsair Vengeance DDR4 LPX CMK32GX4M2B3200C16 = 32 GB RAM m2 ssd: Samsung 970 Evo 500 GB Intel Core i7-8700 3,2 BCM943602CS WiFi/BT 4.1 card Vega 56 (now GTX 770) I used Clover Configurator to put the kexts in place, vanilla style: FakeSMC.kext Lilu.kext IntelMausiEthernet.kext AppleALC.kext It worked fine with 10.14.0, but I had a lot of trouble with the Vega 56 videocard. I thought it was my Hackintosh setup and got frustrated with it, because I couldn't get it right. Much later I found out it was simply the Vega 56 card that was faulty. A second one was also faulty, so now I bought a used GTX 770, since it is supported by Mojave. It works, with some glitches in the video. Now I want to update to 10.14.6, so I updated to the latest Clover Configurator (5120). Since some kexts are merged, I couldn't simply update the set I had, so I used the default settings of the clover updater, but with those, the Hackintosh (still on 10.14) won't boot. Stuck at this screen at startup Old, working 10.14.0 kexts and new Clover Configurator 5120 kexts side by side I don't understand why the standard Clover Configurator set is not working. I've been reading everything I can find about it, but most is outdated or (I think) meant for Catalina or Open Core? TLDR; Which kexts should I use with 10.14.6 / Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Gaming 5 / GTX 770? Edited August 9, 2020 by G5rebuilder typo

G5rebuilder Posted August 9, 2020 Author Posted August 9, 2020 Thank you. Should I test this and make sure this works with 10.14.0 before I update to 10.14.6?

G5rebuilder Posted August 10, 2020 Author Posted August 10, 2020 (edited) I installed the kexts from your link, from the Clover / Coffee Lake .zip. I restarted. Now it gets stuck during startup.. After a while, it ends in a completely black screen. Edited August 10, 2020 by G5rebuilder

G5rebuilder Posted August 10, 2020 Author Posted August 10, 2020 I’m sorry, I don’t understand what you mean by that. Via F12 I can get into the USB Clover bootloader, then into the Apple Mojave installer but from there I can’t get to the EFI partition. I’ll look back into my notes from when I created this hackintosh and get back here when the files are restored.
