Hi,

I tried to patch myself, but I couldn't, so thanks for this opportunity.

My computer is MSI GT60 Barebone (Ivy Bridge).

Here's my problems;

- Mac doesn't identify my display as a laptop screen, so I can't control the brightness. VGA and HDMI is not working.

- NVIDIA (Optimus) needs to be removed.

- Sleep function only closes the screen.

Thanks for DSDT.

LVDS looks brighter but can't control.

As your suggestion, I switched to MacbookPro9,2.

I changed the ig-platform id to 3 but VGA and HDMI are still not working.

Also, I see that battery discharges very fast. In Windows, if HD4000 is using, power button led is white,but when GTX670 is started to be used, it goes to red. In Mac, power led is always red. Is there any fix for this?

With ID 3,4 and 9 I have QE/CI. I know nvidia won't work, but in system information, it is there. I think it is working but it doesn't have any effect on the system, so it needs to be deleted, but I don't know how.

I use clover, so cpu power management seems to be working. Is there any test for it?

Thanks

Hi all, I'm testing 10.10 beta on Lenovo Y510P and I'm having a 'working' system. I'm missing some functionality and I guess it's time for some DSDT patching so I started looking here. What I'm missing is:

  • Sleep: my system only turn off display when I click set OS X to sleep, then any button or mouse click will turn display on again but it never sleep actually.
  • Sleep on LID close: assuming sleep would work, fixing this would be a great addition!
  • Restart: it works sometimes, but not always. sometimes it put the system into unusable state where display is off but computer still running and it keep like that.
  • Graphics glitches: I was able to inject graphics card (Intel HD 4600) device ID into Clover and I have QE/CI with 1536MB which is fine. But I have some glitches in few apps and log-in screen, can a DSDT patch fix that?
  • Brightness control: I don't have the slider in System Preferences > Display
  • Brightness control via key combination is a great addition!

I know these are much, but any fix would be appreciated. And yes I know 10.10 is still in beta and is not bug free, but most of these problems appeared to me with Mavericks as well, After all, a DSDT is a DSDT and have o be fixed and patched if it's not that good.

Attached is both Send me and my ACPI files. Thanks in advance :)

Regards

Ahmed

Hello. Thanks for this.

I used both and I noticed one thing only changed that is the Brightness Control shown up in System Preferences > Display. However it is not functioning neither using the slider nor using key combination of course (I tried a couple of ACPIBacklid.kext).

Still no sleep. And I don't know why I need to inject applehda? I'm using voodooHDA .. I'd like to use native kext of course but at least I've a working sound for now so I'm trying to focus on more serious problems.

Thanks

Hi,

First thanks for the reply even if helped or not.

Just to let you know I want to do everything by my hand and I'm not happy if you, or anybody else, do anything for me. However, I'm not expert like millions others and I'll appreciate if anybody is willing to give me a hand on what to do. The rules for this thread was to post my clean DSDT and the Send me file along with what I want to achieve which is exactly what I did. I don't think I made anything so you feel I depend on you which is not.

Anyway, here's a link to my ioreg file: http://1drv.ms/1wNeCSB

My clean DSDT (with SSDTs) are here: http://Olarila.com/forum/download/file.php?id=6380

My current DSDT is the first one you sent me here: http://Olarila.com/forum/download/file.php?id=6382

My Send me file is here: http://Olarila.com/forum/download/file.php?id=6381

My SMBIOS is attached as image, I use clover so no smbios.plist

Regarding Sleep requirements, I have USB, Sound (voodooHDA), and graphics (with tiny glitches at login) all working 100%.

Finally, here's snippets from the console for sleep and wake:

Okay, it seems it sleep fine but takes much time ~20 sec. (I searched and found this normal for 10.9 so it might be the same for 10.10)

I fixed one problem with waking by turning off "Wake for network access" but it still wakes up immediately because of bluetooth. I turned off "Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer" but it doesn't fix it. It looks like a problem with the bluetooth kext (I have BCM4352 and use Bluetooth Firmware Uploader http://forum.osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2925-bluetooth-firmware-uploader/ )

Going to remove that kext and test sleep/wake again.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I only use WiFi and since I disabled "Wake for network access" I got rid of the Ethernet assertion:

The wake reason is XHC1 by AirPort_Brcm43xx::powerChange. That's why I'm suspecting the WiFi card or its Bluetooth part. Somethings makes it require the machine to wake up and that needs to be disabled. I don't know should that be done in kexts or where.

Hi

No I don't have this kext installed (I have it stored other place).

By the way, The last DSDT+SSDT-0 you sent me:

  • Showed the brightness slider.
  • Changed something in power management so that sleep is made possible (with need to some fixes of course).
  • Changed something in power management so that Restart no longer works as it was.
  • Graphics sometimes feels like using 16-bit colors and have to restart to fix it temporarily but again it get distorted after some time.

So I switch back to default DSDT and trying to figure out how to edit it without the side effects. Could you share what you changed inside the DSDT and SSDT-0?

Thanks

Thanks,

So this is the graphics patch in ssdt-0:

Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized)
           {
               If (LEqual (Arg2, Zero))
               {
                   Return (Buffer (One)
                   {
                       0x03
                   })
               }

               Return (Package (0x04)
               {
                   "AAPL,ig-platform-id",
                   Buffer (0x04)
                   {
                       0x0A, 0x26, 0x22, 0x06
                   },

                   "hda-gfx",
                   Buffer (0x0A)
                   {
                       "onboard-1"
                   }
               })
           }

I was wondering about the ig-platform-id as I know it's 0x0A268086 not 0x0A262206. Is this correct or something I don't understand?
