My DSDT was previously patched and working ok (except that the Mac always refuses to lock after display wakes from sleep), and then I installed a native Broadcom card last night into my hackintosh to give it hand off, continuity, air drop etc and lost all of my usb drives. It is the Broadcom combo card that also has a cable running to the internal usb 2.0 header for bluetooth. It also crashed finder a few times. nholloman Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 where would GenericUSBXHCI.kext be located other than the efi/clover/kexts/other folder? I removed it a while back on your recommendation. I looked in there just now and it isn't there. Added in 1 minute 33 seconds: is it possible that the runme app is picking up old log information? Added in 9 minutes 56 seconds: I also just found it and removed it from library/extensions and then rebooted. still not picking up the usb drives. Broadcom plugged into the usb header on the Mobo is working though.

I wasn't sure if sending the runme app results again would help Added in 3 minutes 24 seconds: well, never mind. I found the problem. dead USB hub...... Daniel, thank you so much for what you do. it is amazing. Added in 3 minutes 49 seconds: ok one more problem found. hub is not dead, just will not detect the drives if the hub is plugged in on reboot. if I power off the hub and power back on it picks up the drives. any reason it would not be picking up on boot?

nholloman Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 just tested. there is one USB port that is not working with external drives and I happened to be the port I had the hub plugged into. all other ports seem to be working. the "broken" port does work with the mouse plugged in though.
