Hi, I have Mountain Lion 10.8.2, can you edit DSDT in order to enable hardware acceleration for my Sapphire HD 6950 2GB?

Without DSDT (with oleg_tr kext and FBRotate) I have gray screen without cursor (probably doesn't recognize the graphics card)...

System specific:

-Asus Rampage II Extreme (x58)

-i7 920 3,8gHz

-6GB RAM 1600MHZ

-Sapphire HD 6950 2GB

thanks a lot! :)

P.S If possible, Can you try to operate my Wifi USB (Netgear WNA 1100)?

Some help? thanks!

hello

what u want to apply to the 6950 ?

u job is to find the rights patch to the card...

then post it and someone, try to apply to the dsdt.. if that patch make any sense...

or u hope we find the right patch for u card.. ? none of us have that card.. so we can not test...

Hey arthur-pt, when i used your dsdt my system would not boot. So i took the _DSM section from under GFX0 from the dsdt you created and added it to my old dsdt that worked fine before i upgraded the lcd. Doing that allowed my system to boot with a 1600x900 resolution, but i lost hd4000 acceleration. Before i upgraded i was using the "device-properties" flag in chameleon and had the 01 66 00 03 id hex string. When using the _dsm section i put it as 0x03, and i deleted the string from the .boot.plist, but im still unable to get acceleration. Is it possible that i would have to use a different id? i have tried 01, 02, 03, 04 without any changes.

Btw, i dont know if this would make a difference but i forgot to mention my system has a hd4000 and a nvidia gt650m 2gb. Also is there any way to disable it so it wont consume power. I cant do it in bios

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Mo

I am confused on the AppleHDA mod. Looking at the DSDT you sent me it has audio-id 0x0C, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00 and device-type "ALC897". I have ALC887 and the post mentions I need audio-id 1 or 2. Can I just make those changes with current DSDT?

I tested wake from sleep on Chimera and Clover. Under Chimera, the system stayed asleep but rebooted on wake. Under Clover, the system and motherboard crashed and required a full BIOS reset before I could boot.

The system now wakes to the desktop, but desktop animations like clicking menus or moving mouse pointer are slow and stutter. There is no longer any difference between DSDT and non-DSDT behavior with Chimera. Under Clover, system crashes on wake with backtraces through com.apple.iokit.IOHIDFamily,IOUSBFamily,AppleUSBComposite,IOUSBHIDDriver

Hey arthur-pt, thanks for the dsdt edit. I basically re did my entire dsdt by using all the ivy bridge patches, i believe the dsdt patch i was using for my motherboard was made sometime in 2011. After i did that and copied your _dsm section that you edited for duallink and device injection, i was able to boot into osx, but without acceleration.

I deleted the injection portion under _dsm and did a device properties hex string into chameleon.boot.plist. I tried the one that originally worked for me (0x03) but that wouldnt work. I eventually found one that worked, 0x04, but it dropped from 512mb to 384mb. I am fine with that as i have full acceleration and scored a 12298 on geekbench. If there is a way to get it back to 512mb please let me know.

Thanks,

Mo

Hey,

I set the generetecstates=yes and generatepstates=yes,

when I booted with nullpower... I saw on istat 5 different sensors (I didn't wrote their name or something :[)

after deleting it I see only 3 ("cpu die 1" "heatsink" "motherboard")

except for this everything is good.
