[Guide] Install/Restore BigSur with OpenCore

Can someone else PLEASE host/upload this .dmg file? I tried "adding" it to my google drive account and it just added a shortcut and says the same thing, too many downloads. Not available at this time.

@MaLd0n I was finally able to download the files, thank you. Can I ask for a little advice? I am currently running 10.15.6 Catalina with Clover and I have been wanting to make the switch to OpenCore. My 10.15.6 install is on my 1TB m.2 SSD and I have a spare 500GB SSD in the machine to tinker with. Should I just start a brand new install on the 500GB SSD of Big Sur with OpenCore and get it running, then migrate it to the m.2 when it's fine tuned? Should I use the USB method with beta 3? I just want to be successful with installing beta 3. Thanks as always.

hey when i try to restore the image to my ssd it goes way over 128gb its at 524 gb now. did i do something wrong?

 

59089354752 bytes transferred in 4167.751165 secs (14177755 bytes/sec)

 

sorry thats only 59GB my bad , ill wait until the restore is complete and check back

@MaLd0n  I've successfully installed Big Sur beta 2 with Opencore 0.6.0 but I now want to upgrade to beta 3. When booting using the installer it gives me the following message and won't continue (no matter how long I wait). See attachment.

Please note that I don't have a Thunderbolt Display if that is relevant to mention. 

Thunderbolt 255 PCI - LS=0x7043 LC=0x0040 SS=0x0140 SC=0x0008 PMCSR=0x0000 RT=0xffffffff NLRT=0xffffffff LWRT=0xffffffff PRRT=0xffffffff TRT=0x0000 TNLRT=0x0000 TLWRT=0x0000 TPRRT=0x0000 TLUP=0x0001

Hopefully you can provide some suggestions.

16gb ram 3600

 

is it cuz of the cpu or something?

Define premade EFI please? Installed on the target drive or the install USB for this premade EFI? Reason I ask is because beta 3 installs fine on my SSD and works, but the moment I try to install it on my production nvme drive it will NOT install at all. The target nvme drive never shows itself in the opencore bootloader...Thanks!

ok thank you! it works now finally lol i just need a little help getting it to restart and shutdown properly. also is there a way to update it? when i try to load the updater it hangs on the same dbstart:log
