Sleep works that way, but when I turn it back on it's much slower and curiously no CPU info is loaded into Intel Power Gadget. I also had issues with sleep with the opencore EFI. They're fixed for me by using the voodooTSCSync kext. After that, no more issues with sleep, closing the lid works too. Only "bug" I've found with it is that the trackpad state isn't quite right when woken up but that's solved with just clicking the trackpad. I remember that was the same with my old clover catalina efi. Also, thanks Samarth for the efi! Works almost perfectly, I just had to remove some things since my laptop doesn't have a dGPU. The only bugs I have left on big sur are the wifi, which I have to look into that kinda new kext thing, and the trackpad that stutters when the laptop's on battery. I had that on my previous catalina clover efi too and afaik I fixed that somehow so here that might work too!
wouter Posted July 26, 2020 Posted July 26, 2020 Update: I managed to unlock the CFG in the bios. To Samarth, maybe you should consider also doing this and adding it to your guide, as this can provide better stability and proper cpu power management. More info about it here: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Post-Install/misc/msr-lock.html#turning-off-cfg-lock-manually. Note that this method doesn't work on our ideapad, since Lenovo was so kind to lock it all ?. If there's any interest in this I can provide some information on how I've done it (in short: I used a tool called "RU"). It's not that hard but I'd rather have a good nights sleep instead of useless writing if no one will use it.

I knew the CFG-Lock was disabled and I never tried to unlock it cause I thought it might cause problems to the Windows (which I use mostly). Surely you can post it here the guide or send me in PM. I will credit it and add it to the OP in this thread.? Also, don't think no one will use it. I believe If you helped even just one person, you have done a lot to have a good night's sleep..? XTutorials Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 (edited) OpenCore 0.6.0 released some days ago, would there be any benefit if I update it? Also, I have an issue(at least when using USB-C headphones) where after some time of audio playback or just randomly audio gets extremely distorted. To fix this I just have to reload the page, or skip some seconds of the video. And sleep still doesn't work for me, for no reason, but I just got used to shut down the laptop when I'm not using it. There won't be any major benefit from updating OpenCore. I updated to OpenCore 0.6.1 Release Version and it still works the same. I don't use USB-C port for headphones (Neither in Windows or macOS). Maybe the port isn't for audio output. Will look into it too. I am still fixing sleep issues. So far, Sleep works but the trackpad doesn't work smoothly after wake and the only solution is to restart the OS. Still I am trying to solve the issue. I accidentally solved it one time but forgot to take backup of the config.plist and now I am back to fixing it again. Will post once it's fixed. Edited August 20, 2020 by samarth05 1
Maxen Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 Just wanted to say thank you! Everything works like a charm. By the way, if anyone encountered freeze during load, changing DSDT.aml to BIOS.aml helped in my case. You can try to change needed in clover options (DSDT name) before loading/installing, and if it helps, change name in config.pllist (Acpi section).

samarth05 Posted January 18, 2021 Author Posted January 18, 2021 (edited) UPDATE 18/01/2021 : 1. Updated OpenCore Bootloader to version 0.6.5. 2. Added a lot of necessary SSDT's to ACPI Folder for smooth functionality of the system. 3. Made necessary adjustments to config.plist. 4. Removed unnecessary kext and updated to latest version. 5. Works Perfectly for macOS Big Sur 11.1. I lost my Broadcom Wifi Card so I am using Intel Wifi Card for my laptop. So I removed all the Broadcom Kexts. If anyone using Broadcom Card can just install the kexts and update the config.plist accordingly. Links are updated in OP. Credits : @MaLd0n, Github members (especially Ab2774), Google. Hey, nice updates! I've tested this and there are indeed some nice improvements! However, I still encountered an issue with sleep. After sleep, the trackpad doesn't seem to work anymore. Does that feature work for you? The previous EFI did not have issues with that. After doing some research, i found this (https://github.com/VoodooI2C/VoodooI2C/issues/371) and it seems like that's the issue we're having. I was able to fix it by mixing some voodooI2Cxxx files together (The I2CSynaptics version provided in the first EFI did not have issues) and was able to get it working again, with the only issue being the trackpad is a bit weird when waking from sleep. A simple click does fix that tho. That bug was fixed here (https://github.com/VoodooI2C/VoodooI2CSynaptics/commit/804db5c7da71365807555f94e77258f83e57d616) but I'm not able to use this since I was not able to find a version with that patch, but also with working wake from sleep. To fix this, there are a few possibilities: - Find a version with the patch and wake from sleep. ( I wasn't able to search a lot since I don't have a lot of time) - Compile a version with the patch enabled. - Try VoodooRMI VoodooRMI seems to be kinda new and specifically made for synaptics trackpads. I don't know if it's worth to have a look at. Maybe someone who has some spare time can take a look at this? I'll share the slightly modified EFI in case anyone wants to use it. Some other small changes I made are: - Enabled FileVault support (still does work with FileVault disabled) - Updated OpenCanopy resource files to match Big Sur icons. - Added AirportItlwm for native macOS wifi with the built-in Intel wifi card (works surprisingly well, 802.11AC is supported in the newest version and handoff/universal clipboard are working) https://www.icloud.com/iclouddrive/0UEwqR5rIx-Fif6WMhSMMN76Q#EFI Tested on macOS 11.3.1 The EFI was larger than the max file size so I wasn't able to directly upload it here. Hi! I have also encountered issues with sleep. Firstly when I wake up from sleep, the laptop screen doesn't wake up (It goes dark). The fix is to completely lower the Brightness using F11 and increase the Brightness again using F12. Second issue is the trackpad going weird after waking from sleep like you mentioned. The trick is just a simple left hard click on the left side of touchpad and it works perfectly after that. You might be having touchpad issues because the touchpad model might be different from the one I have. It's necessary to patch the touchpad drivers as per the specific model you have to make it work perfectly. I have patched the touchpad drivers according to my touchpad model therefore it works perfectly for me (except for the above issues which are resolvable). Also, I disabled ̃FileVault in latest version of EFI because it created problems for me while mounting my secondary NTFS drive through Mounty. Anyways, Thanks for the new changes, will test and update the EFI once I update my macOS to the latest version.
