I had read something about ACPI battery, said you had to remove it or something to show the trackpad settings. is that true? or not?

user748832 Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 (edited) Hi, I was reading the post and all the comments. I have installed Mac OS 10.15.1 thanks to @MaLd0n for its EFI folder. everything works except the touchpad. On IOREG appears as ELAN0629 as well as the user @user748832, I use the following guide : https://github.com/alexandred/VoodooI2C/pull/191/files#diff-2956980392a5cef855a8135904c939f3, I try with 0x6e , 0x42 , 0x1B, etc.. but it didn't work. I would like to know which hexadecimal GPIO pin number used and which kexts are finally the ones that made this model work. in my case in the trackpad configuration appears looking for bluetooth trackpad. If anyone could help me, I'd appreciate it very much. I think you have my same exact model (i3 and bluetooth in pending state always). I was unable to find any working GPIO pin number for using I2C in interrupt mode. However, I'm using the ELAN kext provided by onemanosx, which has polling mode enabled for ELAN devices. You also need to patch your DSDT as per my earlier post, otherwise polling mode will not work too. Look at my post of 29 Oct 2019, 17:30 Edited November 13, 2019 by Guest

Look at my post of 29 Oct 2019, 17:30 Yes, worked very well your DSDT and exact, Intel i3-8145u, I change the wifi card for one that I had from another laptop which is Atheros956x and works very well the wifi, bluetooth as you say is always looking but doesn't work, it should also be said that when upgrading to 10.15.1 I lost the HDMI audio, I will continue looking and try to make it work, anything will be very attentive. David.zip I'm sorry, I didn't send my previous comment correctly, but it said that I had tested your kext, (along with the DSDT) and it didn't work, the settings showed looking for a trackpad, but thanks to the user [ref]lipejp[/ref] for sending the link of the EFI of [ref]Mald0n[/ref] with the DSDT of the user [ref]user748832[/ref] , the trackpad worked perfectly, thank you very much to all, I'm at your orders.

kuarahy@icloud.com Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 Hi [ref]MaLd0n[/ref], I have a question. Is there a way to control the battery charging level on osx, I mean for instance prevent battery from charging when it has reached XX%. I found a workaround for it, I boot on windows 10 and enable preserve battery mode (This is done using that soft installed by Lenovo, can't remember the name now), with 'preserve battery mode´ the battery won't charge until it reaches 20% or less, then it charges it till 80%. After changing those settings on Windows 10 I boot again on OSX, trouble is that doing so it won't charge the battery at all even if if reaches 20%. To charge the battery I need to boot on Windows 10 again and leave it there charging till 80% then I boot again on OSX, lol. Lot of work but I think it will help extend the battery life, considering the fact that this machine´s battery is really small. regards.

kuarahy@icloud.com Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 [ref]MaLd0n[/ref], I've been testing the battery thing further, and it works, it starts charging when it reaches 20% and it goes up till 60%. But this works on OSX only if I turn on this feature on Windows , funny, isn't it ? [ref]kuarahy@icloud.com[/ref], k the battery is not good, same under windows
user748832 Posted November 15, 2019 Posted November 15, 2019 (edited) That means, we should stick to my initial upload of the Elan kext. Thanks for testing it out. [ref]Marck00[/ref] [ref]user748832[/ref], can you verify as well? Hi onemanosx, what is exactly that you want me to test? Are there improvements in your version? The ELAN kext that I'm using now is just perfect for me, only thing is that touch sensibility is not high, did you improve this? If yes, than I will test a new kext, just send me the link. Thanks. PS. I've setup my Xcode env, cloned the I2C rep and merged in the changes by Sasha that I found here: https://github.com/EmotionalLove/VoodooI2CELAN Only my changes are following lines (176-182) in VoodooI2CELANTouchpadDriver.cpp, as I found that 0xFF (255) is returned when touchpad is Idle (not touched). if (reportData[ETP_REPORT_ID_OFFSET] == 0xFF) { // touchpad is IDLE (no touch) return kIOReturnSuccess; } if (reportData[ETP_REPORT_ID_OFFSET] != ETP_REPORT_ID) { IOLog("%s::%s Invalid report (%d)\n", getName(), device_name, reportData[ETP_REPORT_ID_OFFSET]); return kIOReturnError; } I don't like to have a lot of messages in kernel log (thousand and thousand) like this "Invalid report (255) ...." Added in 17 minutes 57 seconds: [ref]Marck00[/ref], the dsdt is same, just have a little changes for i2c device Your DSDT didn't work for me as I have ELAN029. This device only works in polling mode. Methods SSCN and FMCN are missing from your DSDT, they are required for polling mode. So, my current DSDT is different from your, as I added inside Device (TPD0) for Scope (_SB.PCI0.I2C0) the following methods: Method (SSCN, 0, NotSerialized) { Return (PKG3 (SSH0, SSL0, SSD0)) } Method (FMCN, 0, NotSerialized) { Return (PKG3 (FMH0, FML0, FMD0)) } Also, I added this, not sure it is really required: Method (PKG3, 3, Serialized) { Name (PKG, Package (0x03) { Zero, Zero, Zero }) PKG [Zero] = Arg0 PKG [One] = Arg1 PKG [0x02] = Arg2 Return (PKG) /* \_SB_.PCI0.I2C0.PKG3.PKG_ */ } Edited November 15, 2019 by Guest
