nosoapradio Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 Hello. I have essentially the same specs as your Designare system (except Vega 56 vs your 64). I've been running this as a hackintosh for a while. It's pretty solid, but I think your method looks more desirable. My question, is if I redo my system with your method would I gain anything with going with Catalina or is Mojave the better (more stable) Designare/i9 setup? Thanks.

ginobambino Posted November 15, 2019 Posted November 15, 2019 Hi there, I have the same hardware, just using a i7 9700K and different ram and I'm using your EFI to install Catalina on this build but I keep getting a black screen after I start the installation from the clover bootloader. When I say black screen I actually mean that my screen just doesn't get a signal anymore and turns off. I don't even reach the Catalina install screen (where I can pick disk utility etc). I'm connected straight to the iGPU since I'm trying to run an AMD RX 5700 XT (hence trying to install catalina) I've added the pikera bootarg in whatevergreen, since I heard this might help things but to no avail. Actually it sounds like my display is just not picking up the signal even thought when I touch my keyboard I can hear the fans kicking off and the computer "waking up" it seems like it's a display driver issue Any help would be greatly appreciated

ginobambino Posted November 15, 2019 Posted November 15, 2019 Thank you for your reply, I appreciate the help. But I'm afraid it's the same thing. I really don't understand it. I don't seem to find anyone else with the same problem. I've tried different bios settings, different bios versions, very plain EFI, very elaborate ones. Basically, the way I see it the internal graphics turn off when it would normally start the catalina installer, I have the impression the mac installation app is actually happening, it's just not outputting anything to the screen. I'd be happy to pay you to help me out.

Por cierto he devuelto tres placas Asus Prime Z390-A y Gaming. Saludos y gracias.

Spiked Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 (edited) I tried to boot your EFI... but my screen turns black. I also remove WhatEverGreen kext but nothing, I get the same problem My gpu 5700 XT Any idea? Thank You! I had this problem with my Asus 5700xt Blower when I was trying to boot a existing 10.15.1 installed system but it worked when i removed WhatEverGreen. Double check it. For the install process I don't know if the 5700xt works, I installed mine using a Vega64 at the time. [ref]MaLd0n[/ref], YOU ROCK! I just used your EFI, disabled WhatEverGreen and I booted for the first time with my 5700xt, I've spent 2 days trying to achieve this, thanks a lot! Sadly I can't donate as much as I want at this moment because of some financial troubles, but I hope that you enjoy the little donation that I have sent you Edited December 8, 2019 by Guest
