[Help] X79 - Fully working other than RX580

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hi guys,

Just installed Mojave and I have a fully working build with the exception of my GPU. Even iMessage is good.

My GPU is fine with a single display, however if I add multiple, I loose acceleration and the secondary display just flickers. Also, the only ports that work are the 2 display ports. I am trying to run 4 displays (2 HDMI, 1 DVI, 1 Display port). I have a Sapphire nitro+ 8GB RX580

Other specs

MSI X79A-GD65 (8d)

i7 3970x

32GB Corsair Vengeance

Corsair RM650 PSU

Corsair H100i

2x Intel Datacenter 120GB SSD

1x Samsung 860 Evo SSD

1x Seagate 4TB SSHD

Any advice here? Will post a full guide/pics in working hacks when this is sorted :)

Closest I have is "legacy + UEFI" or "UEFI Only" in my boot options. I don't see CSM anywhere.

Mac OS, Windows and Linux will boot with either option selected.

Spent another few hours trying various patches and still no luck.

Do you think it would be worth trying either 10.13 or 10.15?
