when i use GraphicsEnabler,it turn into black screen..then i try to capture the screen because the system is still working.. it shows 1366 x 768 resolution.. i tried your tutorial about EDID but it still show the same black screen.. :(

i try some of ATIConfig Framebuffer but it end with totally blackscreen (Juncus) or sometimes blackscreen with backlight still working (Muskgrass, Gibba, Kudzu)

u have a sandy cpu 2ª generation, the ati dont work, no solution for now, but the intel hd 3000 it works

use smbios macbookpro8,2

and see the kext in s/l/e

AppleIntelHD3000Graphics.kext

AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.kext

to see if u dev id is there (0x01168086 example) that is the correct format to insert u dev id

Hi Guys... I'm in need of some help here with my PowerColor HD 5450 512MB.

My Setup:

OSX Lion

Installed by MyHack3.1

MB: P5KPL-AM

RAM: 2GB

HDD: 80GB SATA

The install when fine and boots into Lion with no problems, I have GE=Yes set and Lion see the graphics as a 5430M. I have full QE/CI but only the VGA port works.

I have checked the DID, they are already in the ATIRadeonX3000 and ATI5000Controller. The DID is 68E1 1002.

I read I have to delete all ATI kext but these 7, which I did ( this did not help!)

ATIFramebuffer.kext

ATIRadeonX3000GLDriver.bundle

ATIRadeonX3000VADriver.bundle

ATI5000Controller.kext

ATIRadeonX3000.kext

ATISupport.kext

When I set GE=No it see it as a 5000 series, I can then get the VGA, DVI and HDMI to work. The don't like to be swapped between each other, but you can get all three working.

Can someone please walk me through what I need to do...

Thanks for the reply, I just read over the first page again. I went thought the supported graphics card link. This is the root of the problem, I think. My card DID is listed on line 567 with this info

0x68E1,␉0x1426103C, CHIP_FAMILY_CEDAR,␉␉"ATI Radeon HD 5430M",␉␉␉␉kEulemur

as well as on line 592 with this info

0x68E1,␉0x3000174B, CHIP_FAMILY_CEDAR,␉␉"ATI Radeon HD 5450",␉␉␉␉kEulemur

is this why the card is being seen as a 5430M ? If so what can I do to get it working as the 5450

I tried that file but no go, it did not work, chess halt my pc, and dvd player quit with error message and not the one about con't find video card.

I then install iAKTOS L2 10.7.2 but this file also did not work. but when i added my card ID to ati4600, i was able to change resolution of my monitor. but in ML DP4 i had to add my IODisplayEDID manually.

Can you suggest a good solution for this card?

-like default installed of ML Dp4 10.8.0

-which version of chameleon 2.1 to use and how to configure it, what framebuffer to use?

-which smbios to use imac10,1 or imac8,1 or imac3,1 ... ?

I have ATI5970, it works fine in Mountain Lion except the QE/CI support (which is working for Lion and Snow Leopard). I think I might need to add the CardID and Vendor ID in the AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext. But 5970 belongs to Hemlock family, which is not listed in the AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext. I tried to add it to Cypress family, but fails to boot up. Is it possible resolve this? Thanks,

Hello!

I would like to ask for a little help.

I have a "special-edition" HD5670 card. To be precise: VTX3D Radeon HD5670/1GB

System Information here:

As you can see it has a custom device id 68B9 which not the standard for HD5670 cards: They use 68D8 usually

This wasn't a problem for me in OSX 10.7.x cause I just added 0x68B91002 manually to my ATI5000Controller.kext repaired permissions and it worked perfectly with Hoolock personality added to org.chameleon.boot.plist

Now in 10.8 there's no info.plist in the ATI5000Controller.kext

I did researches and found info about the newly introduced AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext

I opened it up and edited its info.plst under the Juniper part and added the line 0x68B9 to it (I know 5670s use Redwood but GeekBench says it's a Juniper card)

So I added the line, repaired permissions booted up with GraphicsEnabler=Yes (I use ErmaC's latest boot loader).

With -v it boots the system but the screen stuck at showing the log. If I type in my password (blind - no GUI) and then I press CMD+Shift+3 it takes a screenshot(I can hear the sound) so it means the system boots up properly but it messes up something with the vga.

This is everything I could find out by myself.

Do you have any idea what should I do?

My system spec are:

Gigabyte H61M-D2-B3 (I'm using pre edited DSDT - works well)

Intel i3 2120 CPU

VTX3D 5670/1GB vga

4GB ram

Sorry for talking so much but I wanted to tell you everything and maybe it might help other people later in the future too.
