None... I dont know which to use....

define also the number of ports u have in ati ...

good hack

The card i have is the Official AMD ATI Radeon HD 5870 ref card

do I still need to define the number ports if the card info was added to my DSDT? or should i still do it for kicks?

Thanks

(Just tried adding this still nothing...)

I have tried changing between ports, and yes it does it for both of them.....

Edit:

So Today i tried GraphicsEnabler=no AtiPorts=4 I then added one at a time from the boot menu

AtiConfig=

and did each one of these

Vervet

Douc

Langur

Uakari

Zonalis

Alouatta

Hoolock

Baboon

Eulemur

Galago

Colobus

Mangabey

Nomascus

Orangutan

The only one that kinda worked was Alouatta, but i was only getting 1280*800 and no other options for display resolution...

if i boot with just graphics enabler=no and AtiPorts=4 i have to unplug the monitor like each other time but i get full res and everything works...

Hi,

I am currently using ML 10.8.2 on my Toshiba Laptop.

Currently drivers for my Audio, USBs, Touchpad from multishit are all functioning well.

Except for my graphics card. ATI HD 5470M.

I am still currently using stock kexts as I read from other posts elsewhere that they should work out of the box.

Using kextstat, I saw these lines:

62 1 0xffffff7f814db000 0x1ea000 0x1ea000 com.apple.kext.AMDSupport (8.0.0) <61 10 9 7 5 4 3 1>
63 0 0xffffff7f816c5000 0x49000 0x49000 com.apple.kext.AMD5000Controller (8.0.0) <62 61 10 9 5 4 3 1>
81 0 0xffffff7f81b25000 0x3ce000 0x3ce000 com.apple.AMDRadeonAccelerator (1.0.0) <80 64 61 10 7 5 4 3 1>

The only resolution available is 1024x768 and not being able to detect my card.

Graphics showed up as: Graphics 3MB.

I tried using Eulemur, Hoolook for AtiConfig. Also even if GraphicsEnabler=Yes, it doesn't work.

Can anyone please advice what I should do next? Thanks!

Here is my chameleon boot.plist:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Anyway, I just managed to get my card up and running well!

No additional kexts needed, I just used the stock kexts provided.

I only did a force EDID and put GraphicsEnabler=Yes.

And everything will appear nicely

Hi new here been searching forums like mad for over 3 weeks now about how to get my Graphics card to work like it should in Snow Leopard 10.6.8. I have tried various install variations 32bit 64bit mode. I have tried pretty much every kext i have been able to find that "states" fully working 5850 etc. I can open every application that i have installed except DVD then i get an error message. When running Cinebench 11.5 i get 13.3 FPS if using Xbench 1.3 118.9 OpenGL Graphics test And 122,84 on the Quartz Graphics Test on user Interface Test i get 164,56. So i have figured out that it seems like i have QE/CI working somewhat but perhaps not perfect. If running System Info it says the card is fully working. When i plug in display to vga port my lsvd or main screen what u call it goes black, if i plug into the hdmi both screens get picture but if i unplug hdmi main screen goes black. I have no DSDT at the moment since I still havent figured out how to compile one i have tried extracting from mac os x but that seems totaly wrong and i have tried using AIDA64 on my windows side but when i choose save table i get 7 diffrent SSDT files. In the about this mac tab it states i got a macmini 2.1 and my cpu is displayed with I7 1,79 ghz and ram is correctly shown but graphics card says 5000 series. With the system info app it seems like my card is using 4 diffrent kext to get it to run "correctly" i have tried scanning olarilla.com for kext but most of those that system info claims I am using i can´t download for some reason. I have found all four with Confirmation about my card in the info on what cards are supported for that kext.

Any help would be great so i can get this working a bit better.

hello

u have a notebook so why use a macmini smbios ?

u must use macbookpro6,1 or 6,2 smbios...

and try to use another frame buffer like orangutan or uakari or vervet

and maybe use a legacyAGPM.kext

good hack

Yes correct i got a notebook or desktop light depending on how you look at it. I haven´t changed the smbios.plist yet since my most recent re install after a couple of bad choices trying to chase performance gain. Just to be sure we are talking about the smbios.plist located in the temp folder or is there another? I tried with help of chameleon wizard last install to change to diffrent modes but i didn´t notice any changes in performance at all but perhaps it´s deeper rooted then just that. Regarding framebuffer all pages i have read says I am supposed to run Nomascus if I am not mistaking ? But to try out a diffrent is that by using the AtiConfig= command at boot or do i have to dig into some plist and edit it ? I added a file on screenshot of cpu id and gpu z from windows just to make sure you know what exact card I have. The LegacyAGPM do i just put that in S/L/E amongst with all others or is that supposed to be placed in some diffrent Folder? A lot of newbie questions but I have only been trying for 3 weeks without anyone to help me except reading forum threads all around the web.

Thanks I will read up on all this one last question though. I have read somewhere that you should pick the smbios closest to your actual specs from start does it matter ? Because if i where to choose MacBook Pro then 6.1 or 6.2 i would be wrong i assume since they are running other cpus and nvidia graphics 512 mb?

Okey i see . I have now made a org.chameleon.plist file in extra along with a smbios.plist also installed the legacyagm.kext in s/l/e after changing vendor id and device id to 1002 68a1. Tried fiddling around with various aticonfigs as u mentioned and nomascus aswell without any diffrence at all. About this mac now doesn´t say I7 anymore but only @2940 mhz , but it is properly shown in benchmark programs. i read the thing about sudo ./SSDTGenPR but couldnt understand that at all but i will give it one more shot later and try to understand it. I have never hacked och tried on these kind of things i have only been messing around in windows register a few times with simpler tasks going by guides on how to . Tried smbios.plist for MacPro 3.1 /MacBook Pro 6.1 / 6.2 Imac 11.1/11.2/11.3 nothing really changes any outcome. Tried enabling both p and s state but that gave cpu kp with only P state i saw no diffrence toggled graphics enabler on off no change. Cinebench looks at my card as a 5750 but perhaps that is nothing to care about. About this mac still only calls it 5000 . Perhaps only way to settle this is trying to make if possible small dsdt with the necessary information about cpu ram and graphics if its possible to just add those things but i suppose mobo info etc etc is needed aswell in order for it to run properly.
