ATI Saphire HD 5450 1GB DDR3 (1002 68e1, subsys 174b 3000) QE/CI loss in ML solved: 68e1 is still present in ML ATI5000Controller.kext, but missing in AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext. Opened AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext/Content/Info.plist, found 0x68e01002 and extended into 0x68e01002 0x68e11002, saved, rebooted, BOOOOM - translucent menu bar is back, DVD Player works.

I opened it up and edited its info.plst under the Juniper part and added the line 0x68B9 to it (I know 5670s use Redwood but GeekBench says it's a Juniper card)

Yes, only happens in MLion.

Lion works very well with same settings.

I think this is -maybe- a boot loader error cause if I put GraphicsEnabler to "No"

there is GUI but no qe/ci.

I'm sure about the Juniper but I will give Redwood a try again.

Will keep you posted.

Also Hoolock must be correct because it loads my card well.

No crash in DVD player and no ghost 2nd display.

I own a XFX Radeon HD6870 HD-687A-ZDFC, which is a non-reference card (the one with two fans), and I can't get it to work under ML 10.8 .

I have a fresh install, and AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext seems to be the problem.

My device ID's are in all ATI6000Controller.kext, ATIFrambuffer.kext, AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext and ATISupport.kext. I have to delete AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext, otherwise I get a white screen, GPU freeze after bootup. The Systems boots up properly, I can connect via Network and also readout the system.log:

kernel[0]: AMDBartsGraphicsAccelerator: ** Device in slot: SLOT--1 **

kernel[0]: ** GPU Debug Info Start **

.

If I boot without AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext, the desktop comes up, but of course no QE/CI.

Do I have to edit the AMDRadeonAccelerator binary found in the kext to adress the fact that it is not a reference card? If so, can anybody point in the right direction?

While waiting for solution to my problem on following one thread. I found your thread but cannot understand enough. Could you please help me why ATIRadeonX2000.kext is not loading? On Pg 2 of this thread you suggested someone to use legacyAGPM kext, is that applicable in my case too? If so do you have legacyAGPM kext for ATI Video card?

I have a 4850 but I don't know how make this video card working on ML

I put the kext in S\L\E with kext utility but it still doesn't work.

It hangs on startup just a moment before the dock and the mouse cursor are loaded.

May you help me ?

Hi. I have a Sony VAIO VPCEB1C5E with a ATI Mobility Radeon HD5470 512MB (System Info says it is "Manhattan") DeviceID:68e0 VendorID:1002. I am using Mountain Lion Final installed with unishit and using Chameleon v2.1svn r2033. i have edited the .plist as described in the tutorial but without any luck. when i boot with GraphicsEnabler=Yes i just get a black screen. All the kext files are loaded when i run kextstat, exept ATIFramebuffer. I am a little bit confused,perhaps i did something wrong, or i did not understand the tutorial. Can somebody help me with this? Thanx a lot guys.

P.S. This is my first try of a Hackintosh

I got a problem running on my ATI card under OSX 10.8. Have stuck to your instructions. AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext I registered 0x68A81002 and ATI5000Controller.kext

When booting, it shows me that he has found the Ati 68A8 but the system he shows me only 3 MB. I've tried everything, GrapgicsEnabler = Yes or No aticonfig = but always without success! OSX Lion, I used an ATI ROM and written in the 0xDeviceIDVendorID ATI5000Controller.kext it worked. But on OSX 10.8 it does not work! Why? What am I doing wrong? Any idea why this is? Can you help me, that would be very nice!

i never see any note sandy bridge system working in any version of mac os x with the secondary graphics card working, unless u can disable in bios the intel hd 3000.

if that is u case , the ati must work, if not for now no solution, only works intel hd 3000

If I install my ATI RadeonX.kext recognizes beom 68A8 boot but not in the system. I can not use it as the Intel HD 3000 graphics card!

You write that in your manual for the 6xxx series ATIRadeonx3000 responsible, I can delete AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext and ATIRadeonx3000 install under 10.8? In Lion it worked yes!

in sandy bridge system for now the second card not work, the problem is switching between intel hd 3000 and ati card

so make u efforts to make working good intel hd 3000

I have seen that I have no Intel HD 3000, no solution Kombie. It is activated only the ATI Radeon 6850M!

What about a Rome? I had in Lion and it works not only for ML!

i see in system info, but sandy bridge system , the intel hd is in cpu, only if in u bios , the intel hd is disable.

u can not delete any of the kext from s/l/e

read with attention the post, in 10.8 the kext are changed

now is ati6000controller

I have Acer 7741g laptop i3 350m with ati radeon hd 5470 ,native screen res 1600x900

Have installed mountain lion with unishit , then chimera with sys def mac book pro 8.1 , with dsdt and without .

Dsdt extracted from latest bios with aida64 win7.

Added dual link to dsdt compiled with 0 errors,13 warnings,0 remarks.

Have added force edid and edited custom personalities to match radeon bios decode .

VGA works with acceleration

Hdmi works with acceleration

No LVDS , only black screen or backlight only.

Have also tried chameleon still no lvds.

I think I am close to getting LVDS working but just cant get there.

Have tried everything at this stage, any idea's?

I can upload dsdt , connector out etc if needed ?

only thing i see wrong is smbios

u are using smbios for sandy bridge systems , and u must use macbookpro6,1

Yes my acer only has ati 5470 graphics no intel hd

My card id is 0x68E0 , even added 0x68e0 to amd accelerator and ati5000 but no change.

I did try with mac pro 3.1 sys def but made no difference.

When i added dual link to dsdt I added at GFX0, but I have found others with 6000 series card who added

dual link at PEGP. ?

Wondering now if my dsdt is correct?

I will try with 6.1 sys def and let you know how it goes.

now i'm using enoch r 1970, but for me graphics work is with forced edid

so any chameleon or chimera works good

my interest in chameleon is not the graphics, because if i don't use the forced edid , no graphics in LVDS of notebook

only chameleon don't do the job for graphics in my note
