Hi

I have a Toshiba laptop Portégé R30-A-1CD with a i5-4310M@2.70GHz and the iGPU is HD4600, Intel I217-LM as ethernet card and Intel 7260 as Wireless card

I'm trying to install Catalina, so I downloaded the Vanilla Olarila Image for Catalina

I've followed the instructions at first post of this thread and I was able to boot from the USB stick.
I'm using  EFI.Opencore.NoteBook.Haswell.zip for EFI.

What I did for post-install is:

  • run "Olarila Repair app"
  • Copy EFI folder to /Volumes/EFI from previous downloaded file
  • a-Video Patch
  • b- Embedded Controller Device - Catalina users check Name _HID "PNP0C09" in your DSDT and rename to EC via Clover/OpenCore Acpi rename. - if you using Olarila folders don't need rename
  • 8- Install Clover Bootloader in SSD - *Mobos UEFI - you don't need install Clover, just paste Olarila folder for your Chipset into ESP/EFI partition and reboot! (since I use UEFI I haven't installed)
  • * reboot

After reboot, without USB stick, I get the new boot menu, I choose the first item, but it reboots suddenly and reboots in recovery mode, as I have to install again MacOs.

What can I check?

Thanks

Hi Mald0n, I am new to this topic of mac os installation, but I really want to try this out.

But I am still worried about if it will support my computer or not, as my BIOS is Legacy, and there's no point changing it to UEFI, or the drive will crash.

Can anyone help me install macos Big Sur/Catalina/Mojave on my PC?

This is my computer's hardware info:

Motherboard: HP 83C5 (U3E1)

Motherboard Version: Inyside F.37

BIOS Mode: Legacy (UEFI unsupported)

SMBIOS Version: 3.0

Embedded Controller Version: 31.60

CPU: Intel Core i5 8250U @ 1.60GHz Kaby Lake-U/Y 14nm Technology

RAM: 8.00GB Single-Channel Unknown @ 1197MHz (17-17-17-39)

GRAPHICS: Generic PnP Monitor (1920x1080@60Hz) Intel UHD Graphics 620 (HP) 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce MX130 (HP) ForceWare version: 462.80 SLI Disabled

COMPANY: HP

AUDIO: Realtek High Definition Audio

Please help me and guide me completely detailed through the installation.

Thanks.
