ivandmpk Posted January 20, 2019 Author Posted January 20, 2019 I did this already and it's not working ... kinda anoying but ... I did it before on High Sierra and it works. I edit the copy of the file on my desktop and then replace it in the System folder... reboot and it's still Unknown
erroruser Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 1) Open a Finder window, navigate to the System folder, and then to the Library folder inside. (Not the “Library” folder we visited in the Model name section). 2) Inside Library, go to PrivateFrameworks, and find AppleSystemInfo.framework 3) Inside this framework, navigate to /Versions/A/Resources/. Then find the folder for your system language. If yours is English, go to English.lproj. 4) Inside that folder, find the file AppleSystemInfo.strings. Copy the file, and paste one somewhere as a backup. Then paste another copy to your Desktop to edit. Do not try to edit the file in place, it will not work. 5) Right-click the copy on your Desktop and open it with your editor of choice use textmate https://macromates.com/ AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus, Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 16GB DDR4 3200MHz, Sapphire rx 5700 XT, fractal celcius s36 HP Notebook - 15-ay028ca (Touch), 16 GB 2133 MHz DDR4, Intel HD Graphics 520 1536 MB Asus z97-c i5, i5 4460, 32 GB 1648 MHz DDR3, Radeon RX 560 4096 MB, Corsair H75 Liquid CPU Cooler
