if your debug patch are done correctly, you can also use these codes in terminal

 

  log show | grep -i acpidebug

Never mind, I found out what the problem was! I did the tutorial again and voilá! My brightness keys are working. Thanks a lot.

Hi,

I came here because F1 and F2 are showing the level on the screen, the problem is that they are not really changing the brightness level at all. The max and minimum level are the same.

The problem following this guide is there's no brightness slider like in my High Sierra Hackintosh laptop (see attached image).

What should I do first?

Yes, you can follow the tutorial to map your hotkeys.

Is it possible for you to take a look of why ACPI patch is not applying properly? I tried patching it with latest MaciASL and verified that ACPIDebug.kext loaded but I was not seeing any ACPIDebug output in the system log.
