Monkey303 Posted December 9, 2018 Author Posted December 9, 2018 Thanks, I don't have the NVRAM.plist, just boot and EFI. Tried command+shift but nothing there. Added in 12 minutes 38 seconds: OK, done that and here is the updated send me file. Send me Daves-iMac.zip Added in 2 minutes 37 seconds: I do not have the DSDT file in place as I have no USB functionality with it there. I re-did the USB guide and it was the same results as last time for the USB 2 and for USB 3 there are several ports not working at all. Added in 21 minutes 8 seconds: This is the IO on the back of my board, there is also a blue connector on the board that hooks up to the case USB 3 ports, if that helps?
onemanosx Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 [ref]Monkey303[/ref], check Olarila app for good clover folder for serie 300 Assuming you had not replaced your clover folder with post installation package from here https://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=6254, I suggest you do so. Scroll down to --Install Clover in HDD/SSD and replace with my folder. Download the clover package and copy to your boot drive. Reboot only after placing patched DSDT in patched folder. Take note if USB is working this time round with patched DSDT. Then run send me app. Donate Gitter Chat Acer Aspire V15 Nitro- Black Edition VN7-592G/HM170 Chipset Intel i7-6700HQ, 8GB RAM (UEFI Clover Catalina) MSI B360 Gaming Arctic Intel i5-8600 16GB RAM Asus Radeon RX580 8GB (UEFI Clover Catalina)
Monkey303 Posted December 9, 2018 Author Posted December 9, 2018 Thanks again [ref]onemanosx[/ref], OK, Replaced the clover folder on my boot drive with the one you linked to. Added the DSDT patch. Rebooted and we have USB this time, not sure how much we have yet, but here is the send me file. Send me Daves-iMac.zip
onemanosx Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 Rebooted and we have USB this time, not sure how much we have yet Cool! Now, all you have to do is repeat the USB port mapping as per the guide. Monkey303 Posted December 9, 2018 Author Posted December 9, 2018 OK thanks, so followed the guide but when I get to the USB 3 drives, It only shows 5 ports are in use, there should be 6. According to the motherboard's specs, there are 2x USB on the back I/O and 4x USB 3 with a further 2x USB 3 from a motherboard header to the case USB 3 ports. It's the ports numbered 9 on the I/o picture I posted above. I can live with that, though, if the speeds are OK. Do you recommend anything for testing the speeds? Thanks
onemanosx Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 [ref]Monkey303[/ref], upload new send me file. onemanosx Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 [ref]Monkey303[/ref], You can exclude one more dummy port, USR2 and possibly gain an extra SSxx port. Monkey303 Posted December 9, 2018 Author Posted December 9, 2018 I have a Seagate 4TB USB 3 drive, that is not detected on any port in finder. Patriot USB 3 drive, not detected in finder. Seagate 2TB USB 3 drive not detected in finder. All show in the IORegistry explorer. Added in 1 minute 20 seconds: Ok thanks, I will give that a try now
onemanosx Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 All show in the IORegistry explorer If its on ioreg then its loaded. check in finder Donate Gitter Chat Acer Aspire V15 Nitro- Black Edition VN7-592G/HM170 Chipset Intel i7-6700HQ, 8GB RAM (UEFI Clover Catalina) MSI B360 Gaming Arctic Intel i5-8600 16GB RAM Asus Radeon RX580 8GB (UEFI Clover Catalina)
Monkey303 Posted December 9, 2018 Author Posted December 9, 2018 OK, so I still have no ports other than just the USB 2 ports that we're working to begin with. Anything plugged into any of the other ports does not work. Added in 11 minutes 46 seconds: Rebooted and USB 2 works on all ports, but anything USB 3 plugged in, does not show in finder.
onemanosx Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 [ref]Monkey303[/ref], I'd like you to test this custom kext of mine. Monkey303 Posted December 9, 2018 Author Posted December 9, 2018 Thanks, it's the same, USB 3 devices not recognised in finder.
onemanosx Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 [ref]Monkey303[/ref], Thanks for testing my kext! Use a different USB 3.0 device. I think its hardware problem now. Monkey303 Posted December 9, 2018 Author Posted December 9, 2018 You're welcome, thanks for helping me I have Seagate 4tb, Seagate 2TB, Patriot rage 2, some unbranded USB 3 caddy with 5400rpm drive in, none of them show in finder on the Hackintosh, but all work on iMac upstairs. Also, all these devices were working on the Hackintosh before last Mojave update. Very strange!
Monkey303 Posted December 11, 2018 Author Posted December 11, 2018 Hello, I have made some progress. I found someone with the same motherboard as mine as they gave me their SSDT. I now have full USB 3 at boot, and all devices register in finder and IORegistry, but when they are disconnected, they will not reconnect again in any port. They do not show up in finder or IORegistryExplorer explorer once disconnected and reconnected until next reboot. Are we nearly there? Thanks.
onemanosx Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 [ref]Monkey303[/ref], run http://Olarila.com/files/Utils/RunMe.app.zip and upload files here. I might have solution. Monkey303 Posted December 11, 2018 Author Posted December 11, 2018 Thanks again! Something strange just happened, so the drive I've been testing with, just showed up in finder about 10 minutes after I plugged it in! Send me Daves-iMac.zip Edit: seems to be recognising the USB 3 drive now. But when I reboot, it freezes as soon as the white text starts on the black screen. Edit 2: All USB 3 drives recognised once and then if disconnected, they are not recognised after that at all.
