I did not replace any panel.

Btw are you sure the nvidia gtx 1060 max-q does not work with Mojave? I am still getting only 4k @ 30hz and having screen blackouts/artifacts, using only the Intel UHD630.

NO NVIDIA will work with mojave there are no web drivers only older cards like fermi or kepler

I'm pretty sure. Nvidia haven't release drivers for Mojave yet. Also, the ACPI patch disabled the dGPU so macOS won't be able to use it anyway. You may want to try IntelFBPatcher to fix 4k issues (iirc, you need to increase VRAM to 2048MB).

Did anyone manage to play iTunes DRM Movies/TV Shows without getting HDCP error "This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)"? Everything works fine on Windows 10 but not on macOS.

Well so here I am:

4. Run Clover_v2.4k_r4658.pkg on USB drive (this means booting to clover interface, ok)

- if using GPT, select the target of the install to USB installer via "Change Install Location" (this is where I get lost... Ok, I'm on clover boot interface and there is no such options... And If I go ahead and try booting the mac os installer, I'll just end up with a back screen and nothing else)

just make usb no need to use clover till install is completed then when you on desktop run clover package an select main drive to install then go get the correct efi folder for your chipset

After starting the installer, the apple logo will appear for 2 seconds and the screen will go dark

Anyone having problems getting onboard audio working, I used this guy's config.plist and efi folder and it sorted everything out.

I noticed the difference was on the device tab in clover configurator that the audio inject is 56 instead of 13 in the orginal. Not sure what that actually means but I hope this helps.

Thanks. I have been away for a while, but now I am back. I will look after the IntelFBPatcher when I can - I was in Europe enjoying some time out, I am back home now but struggling with the time zone difference (5 hours). Where I can look after this?

I had even bought a new interesting cable to get 4K@60 in my trip to Europe, tested it before trying any of the suggested patches in this topic. No luck.

Maybe when I try one of these patches. I will come back with something after testing!

Although right now I am kinda regretting buying this laptop. I bought it just to run some games on Windows, and Windows definitely runs good on high resolution. But the macOS side is getting me a bit of a pain in the ass. Not to mention that this laptop is not very "portable”. I took my iPad Pro for my trip instead of the laptop because it was easier to carry with me. I might try to sell this and try to get another macbook.

I have a G7 too, and followed your guide point by point, even used the same versions for OS, Clover, kexts. Still, I can't get sound working, nothing, nada.

Any ideas? I also want to upgrade to Mojave later.
