Hey guys.

I'm running a P7P55D with an Nvidia 9600 GT

I can't seem to get past the End RandomSeed ***** section of the installation bootup. Already tried different USB ports.

Also tried setting Inject Nvidia and Inject Nvidia + Webdrivers on Clover O menu.

BIOS is set to AHCI mode on both SATA controllers. BIOS version is 2103

Could I get some pointers on where to look up help? Ran out of googling juice here.

Hey [ref]MaLd0n[/ref], thanks for the reply.

What you mean by "other uefi driver"? Couldn't find that under the options menu.

btw, image version is 10.4.5 (got the torrent version to save bw).

Hey [ref]MaLd0n[/ref], just tried the High Sierra image and had the same result, regardless of enabling or not nvidia drivers.

In the meantime I came across this: https://github.com/chris1111/Fix-Old-NVIDIA-macOS-Mojave-macOS-Catalina

That seems to bring support to my GPU on the latest macOS builds.

However I still can't get into the installation part. Could you refer me to some content / reading material so I can study some more?

Thanks again

Ok so here are some updates:

Created a Mojave VM to mess with Clover and other UEFI drivers. Tried newer clover, older clover, tried vanilla clover, tried merging MaLd0ns settings with Clover settings, nothing was working.

Then started messing with BIOS settings. No luck

Finally decided to clear BIOS settings and load defaults and BANG, setup loaded. Reflashed and burned this threads image, with no mods or options to make sure it wasn't some other Clover change I had made, and it sure wasn't. All I had to do in the first place was clear BIOS.

Now I'm able to get to the setup screen, only now I'm greeted with this:

IMG-2815-M-dio.jpg

Since now I'm able to boot to a setup, figured I shoudl maybe try High Sierra. However it does not go all the way into the installation. It crashes just before the gray screen...

Any tips?

Hey [ref]MaLd0n[/ref], awesome tip. Changed the smbios settings with Clover Configurator and was finally able to begin instalation. Just got a brand new spare SSD for the OS install.

Now install is stuck @ 6 minutes remaining. It does not freeze, but stops moving forward.

Should I try another efi driver? Any other tips?

Thanks.

Hey [ref]MaLd0n[/ref], that helped. I made progress. Installation ran extreeeeemly slow. I actually left the computer and came back 2 hrs later, it was finished.

I was able to boot post installation, but now I'm stuck @ the spinning wheel at the login screen.

I'm wondering if I should mess with Clover configs and drivers for the post install / pre Clover installation part. Any tips?

Thanks again.

Added in 11 minutes 31 seconds:

Heeey! I fixed it! Enabled the nv_disable flag and it booted rather quickly! Moving to the post install stuff, I'll update the thread as soon as I'm done.

Ok so this is the current situation:

OS Works mostly fine. Updated to the latest clover version and it boots fine. Added patched DSDT and PCI devices are showing on system profiler.

Graphics (9600 GT) is working natively with "Old Nvidia Fix"

Benchmarks> 8700 multithreaded Geekbench 4 which seems about right for the hardware I'm running.

SSD (SATA) Bench is only 130MB/s when it should be a lot more for sequential reads. Maybe this is related to the issue below.

Issues:

OS hangs for 20 30s every now and then. It recovers and keeps going. I've been noticing this behavior since installation. HD LED lights up fixed, OS/install hangs, a lot of time passes, it goes out and starts blinking again, OS resumes working. I believe this could be related to APFS. Tried updating to latest clover (with latest drivers) but no game. This is a dealbreaker for the usage of the computer.

HWinfo sensors are not working. Tried with both FakeSMC and VirtualSMC but no luck. Currently running VIrtualSMC. I wonder if enabling / disabling kexts is just a matter of deleting/adding them to CLover kexts folder, or am I doing something wrong.

TODO

Try and fix the issues above.

Tweak the installation and drivers to obtain better performance/stability

Try to install drivers for the USB 3.0 add-in card. CLover during boot detects it, but it does not show @ macOS.

Any help os appreciated.

Thx [ref]MaLd0n[/ref],

I was able to get FakeSMC working by adding more kexts to the kext dir.

The weird/recurrent hanging behavior still persists. Same motif: HDD LED fixes on, a few seconds passes, it goes out and system resumes working by doing all the stuff that was inputed during the hanging period at once. Really annoying though.

Thx again

Funcionou, bootou legal, suporte a audio melhorou (funcionava, mas agora ligando a interface USB q eu tenho aparecem todas as saídas pra eu escolher).

O problema do SSD / LED persiste, infelizmente.

https://forums.sandisk.com/t5/SanDisk-SSD-Plus/SDSSDA240G-problems-with-LPM-on-Windows-10-anniversary-update/td-p/356477

https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/177819-ahci-link-power-management-enable-hipm-dipm.html

new issue

Anexei um send me pra ajudar.

[ref]MaLd0n[/ref], could these help?
