Salsacock Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Hi there, I tried watching the YouTube tutorial for the LGA775 but unfortunately it seems like it was removed ... After making the boot-able USB stick, I tried booting from the USB but I get a black screen with a '-' on the upper left corner and nothing happens afterwards is there something that I can do ? I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or some of my hardware is not compatible .... What settings do I need to change in the bios ? My setup is : Motheboard : Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2C CPU : Xeon x5460 GPU : GeForce GT 730 Ram : 2GB

ColaCoca Posted January 5, 2019 Posted January 5, 2019 I’m so confused, what I tried to do is install moiave from a bootable usb stick. Here is what I did from the begining : download majave final and then made a bootable usb stick for mojave afterwards I tried booting from the USB and I get stuck on a black screen. After seeing your reply I downloaded clover and made a bootable clover usb and I tried booting into mojave from there but I get the same black screen or a screen with a Forbidden sign in the center. I’m not sure what else to do, is there something that I need to change in clover boot settings (args) or something that I need to change in the bios ?

ColaCoca Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 ColaCoca, i think is a sata problem, g31 is a simple ich7 and don't have AHCI option u can try other usb port too I'm not sure I understand, What do you mean a sata problem, what does it mean AHCI ?? For now I will try an other USB port and tell you what happens ...
Administrators MaLd0n Posted January 6, 2019 Author Administrators Posted January 6, 2019 ahci is a sata mode mandatory for OSX, but g31/ich7 chipset don't have this option, but work in many cases -Guides and Tutorials HERE -Hackintosh Tutorial Database - HERE -The largest EFI folder collection for Hackintosh HERE -Support Olarila Vanilla Hackintosh by making a donation HERE -Professional Hackintosh Support since 2006 HERE
ColaCoca Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 u can try other usb port too Using a different USB port solved the problem. ahci is a sata mode mandatory for OSX, but g31/ich7 chipset don't have this option, but work in many cases So at least it could work ?? Well , now I booted into the installation of the Hackintosh, and I get to the part where I have to choose a drive to install the Hackintosh on, but for some reason my drives/hard drives never show up not even in the disk utility (I did click on the show all drives/disks), What can I do ?? Edit : I did try removing all the old partitions on the hard disk and re-formatting it, but nothing worked.

Salsacock Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 Just to confirm something I have both the accounts of Salsacock and ColaCoca, So I don't make any confusion ... Salsacock, ye, the patch above is for ahci, forget it So that means I won't be able to install High Sierra on my Hard-drive ?? if the answer is no, then is there any Hackintosh that I can install on my Hard-Drive?? Also, I know that it's not efficient at all, but what if I install the Hackintosh on a USB stick (Since USB sticks do show up...) ?
