EfiHackintosh Posted Tuesday at 06:26 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:26 PM Hi, I need help with my Hackintosh EFI. My hardware is an Intel Core i5-3470 (Ivy Bridge), B75 motherboard, 16GB DDR3 1600MHz, and an AMD Radeon RX 560 4GB GDDR5 128-bit Baffin connected to a 1440x900 monitor through HDMI. I currently don’t have a working EFI, so I generated one using OpenCore Simplify, but I have two main problems: OpenCore boots without showing the graphical interface/OpenCanopy, and when macOS boots, the screen is displayed at a very small/low resolution and does not properly fill my 1440x900 monitor. The RX 560 works normally in Windows, so I believe the problem is related to the Hackintosh/OpenCore configuration. I would like help creating or fixing an EFI specifically for this hardware, including the correct OpenCanopy configuration and graphics settings so macOS can properly initialize the RX 560 and use 1440x900 through HDMI. I can provide my current EFI, config.plist, BIOS settings and screenshots if necessary. I am using OpenCore, not Clover.

I got the macOS installers from OpenCore Simplify, and all of them have the same extremely low-resolution problem. I’m now trying to get either Sonoma or Sequoia working Yes, my i5-3470 does not support AVX2. I know that. I’m trying to find out if there is a workaround/patch for running Sonoma or Sequoia on this CPU, or if I should use an older macOS version. Also, I have already tried Catalina, Big Sur, Sonoma and Sequoia. All of them have the same problem: macOS boots with an extremely tiny resolution, much smaller than a normal window, instead of filling my 1440×900 HDMI monitor. My RX 560 4GB works normally in Windows. The EFI I generated with OpenCore Simplify also doesn’t show the graphical OpenCanopy interface. So I would also like to know if the AVX2 limitation is the only major issue, or if my EFI/GPU configuration has separate problems that can be fixed. I don’t currently have the computer with me for the next few days, so I won’t be able to test any changes immediately.
