felipe09 Posted Wednesday at 01:41 PM Posted Wednesday at 01:41 PM Hi, I have an AMD FX-8350 and an ASUS M5A78LM LX Plus motherboard, 4 GB of RAM, I've tried the Olarila images—both Monterey and High Sierra—and both get stuck on “authenticate error” after the part where it checks basesystem.dmg I also have a problem when I try to use Parallels with OpenCorePKG to create a USB drive and add the Realtek 8111 Gigabit network kext—it causes a kernel panic and always reboots. What could be causing this?
Bevis Jason Posted Thursday at 06:56 AM Posted Thursday at 06:56 AM It could be caused by using an incompatible version of the kext, an outdated OpenCore release, or an incorrect EFI configuration.
felipe09 Posted Thursday at 01:32 PM Author Posted Thursday at 01:32 PM (edited) I’ve already tried almost all the available versions of the Realtek 8111 kext, my network card is a Realtek 8111E I checked that it was correctly configured with OC AT. I’ve tried the other version of the Horndis kext to download the recovery although when I connect, the download is VERY SLOW – far too slow (19,18 hours on downloading the recovery) . Is there a way to fix this? Edited Thursday at 01:42 PM by felipe09

felipe09 Posted Thursday at 03:19 PM Author Posted Thursday at 03:19 PM (edited) I don’t know how to find that path, but I’ll leave the OpenCore logs here The last file is where I’ve added the Realtek 8111 kext to the configuration opencore-2026-07-09-075739.rar opencore-2026-07-09-080103.rar opencore-2026-07-09-151302.rar Edited Thursday at 03:26 PM by felipe09
