retsylo Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Hello MaLd0n, I have successfully installed macOS Tahoe 26.1 using the Olarila image and would like to request a DSDT patch for my Asus Prime Z490-P system. I'm experiencing graphics and stability issues, particularly with WhateverGreen.kext. Complete System Specifications: Motherboard: Asus Prime Z490-P CPU: Intel Core i9-10850K (Comet Lake) GPU: AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB (Sapphire) Memory: 32GB DDR4 2400MHz (Ballistix Sport LT) Storage: Samsung SSD 850 EVO 1TB macOS Version: macOS Tahoe 26.1 Critical Installation Issue: WhateverGreen.kext had to be removed from EFI/OC/Kexts to complete installation With WhateverGreen present: Kernel panic/critical error during boot Without WhateverGreen: Installation successful but GPU issues persist Current Issues: System freezes/crashes - Random unresponsive system Green screen artifacts - Occasional display corruption Sleep/wake failure - Black screen after sleep USB port issues - Some ports may not work correctly Thank you for your expertise. I believe with proper DSDT patches and GPU configuration, my system should be 100% stable. Best regards, r3tsyl0 Send me Mac-Pro-de-r3tsyl0.zip
Administrators MaLd0n Posted January 29 Administrators Posted January 29 EFI.zip -Delete old EFI folder and paste new then empty trash. Don't use merge files. -Don't use Drag and Drop into EFI partition. Use Copy/Paste instead. -Reset NVRAM one time - with OpenCore use entry "Reset Nvram" / with Clover use F11 key on boot screen. -Guides and Tutorials HERE -Hackintosh Tutorial Database - HERE -The largest EFI folder collection for Hackintosh HERE -Support Olarila Vanilla Hackintosh by making a donation HERE -Professional Hackintosh Support since 2006 HERE
retsylo Posted Monday at 07:28 AM Author Posted Monday at 07:28 AM Hello MaLd0n, I wanted to deeply thank you for the custom EFI you sent me for my Asus Prime Z490-P. It works wonderfully! My system is now completely stable and everything works perfectly. **Problem solved:** The biggest challenge was getting **WhateverGreen.kext** working on macOS Sequoia (Tahoe 26.1). Initially, I had kernel panics and the system would reboot in a loop every time WhateverGreen tried to load. **Solution found:** After investigating, I discovered the problem was a combination of: 1. **Incomplete boot args** for macOS Tahoe 26.1 2. **The specific version** of WhateverGreen (1.7.1) needed for Tahoe **Final successful configuration:** **Boot args:** ``` -v alcid=1 agdpmod=pikera -wegdbg -wegnoigpu ``` **Keys to success:** - `-agdpmod=pikera` - Essential for RX 580 - `-wegnoigpu` - Correctly disables the iGPU - WhateverGreen version 1.7.1 (specifically compiled for Sequoia compatibility) **Current status:** ✅ **WhateverGreen loading correctly** (kextstat confirms it) ✅ **AMD Radeon RX 580 GPU detected** with Metal 2 ✅ **Sleep/Wake working** perfectly ✅ **System stable** without crashes or kernel panics ✅ **Native monitor resolution** working ✅ **Full graphics acceleration** **Lessons learned:** 1. In macOS Sequoia/Tahoe, the boot args need to be precise 2. The WhateverGreen version matters - 1.7.1 works perfectly 3. Testing on a USB first is safer before modifying the main EFI **Your custom EFI** was crucial because: - The SSDTs/ACPI patches for Z490-P are perfect - The power management configuration for i9-10850K works excellently - The kext order and quirks are optimized - The DSDT patch (MaLd0n.aml) solved all ACPI issues **Advice for other users with RX 580 on Tahoe:** If you have problems with WhateverGreen, make sure to: 1. Use WhateverGreen 1.7.1 specifically 2. Boot args must include `agdpmod=pikera` and `-wegnoigpu` 3. Your EFI must have proper SSDTs for your motherboard **Final result:** A 100% functional and stable Hackintosh. The combination of your expert EFI and the right boot args made everything work perfectly. Thank you so much for your time, expertise, and quick response! Cheers and thanks again for your invaluable help! r3tsyl0
