nicovon Posted March 4, 2025 Author Posted March 4, 2025 (edited) Do I need to download the correct EFI folder for my hardware? I don't understand where I can download it using windows.. in the meantime I tried to boot the USB stick without any changes to the EFI folder and although the graphical screen (very nice) started with three options, it seems that neither the touchpad nor the keyboard work.. This one? https://olarila.com/files/OPENCORE.MOD1/EFI.Opencore.NoteBook.KabyLake.MOD.zip I'm having trouble using DiskGEnius. I haven't figured out how to copy the EFI folder properly. I don't see a copy-paste context menu, like the one in Windows File Explorer.
nicovon Posted March 6, 2025 Author Posted March 6, 2025 @MaLd0n first of all thanks for your help. I followed your guides to the letter but when I start the pendrive (I put USB HDD first in the boot order in the bios) the notebook screen is black, I don't understand what's happening.
nicovon Posted March 6, 2025 Author Posted March 6, 2025 Now I managed to start the MacOS installer but it seems to stop at the message: HID: Legacy shim 2

JerrySears Posted August 6, 2025 Posted August 6, 2025 (edited) Drift Boss The “HID: Legacy shim 2” message usually appears during macOS installation or boot when input drivers (keyboard/mouse) are being initialized. On Hackintosh setups, if it hangs at that point, it’s often because of: Missing or incorrect USB-related settings, macOS requires proper USB mapping; if USB ports aren’t correctly configured, the installer can freeze. Using XhciPortLimit or improper USB kexts can cause this. Edited August 13, 2025 by JerrySears
