Akash Arora Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Hey all, hope all are well! Anyone tried using Gen5 SSDs with hackintosh? Used an Aorus Gen5 12000 and getting crashes / panics with "3rd party nvme controller", same as someone else I found using the T700. That's with & without nvmefix.kext Someone said the Z540 is more stable, going to try that. If anyone has any ideas on working on this 3rd party nvme controller crash, I'm happy to test while I have both the Aorus and Z540 here! Will post the report here soon! Making this consensus thread on Gen5 M.2 NVMe drives with Hackintosh because there isn't much info about it online Have a great day!

Akash Arora Posted January 23, 2024 Author Posted January 23, 2024 seems the T700 & Aorus Gen5 SSD are causing the "3rd party nvme controller panic" have a Z540 here I'm going to test now! But all of these are Phison E26 controller and probably going to give the same panic. Any way to resolve it? will also pre-order the Z54A which is the first Gen5 SSD not using Phison E26 controller. A question, maybe you can help me with - why the Phison E16 did not cause panics for me, which I do not believe has drivers in macOS - but Phison E26 is causing panics?
