wms1124 Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 (edited) Hello I have a Dell Notebook with an AMD Ryzen 7 5825U. I tried Vanilla Monterey with numerous EFI's both from here and others can't get it to boot. Is it possible to do it on this machine with that processor and iGPU am I wasting my time or maybe you have a possible solution? I also tried from scratch building an efi I usually get stuck at Mach Reboot. Sometimes in the middle of cores any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh also it's an Inspiron 15 3525 Ryzen 7 5825U, 16 GB Ram. Will Edited December 22, 2023 by wms1124 adding model # of laptop
Administrators MaLd0n Posted December 23, 2023 Administrators Posted December 23, 2023 Try https://easyupload.io/7cpl8i -Delete old EFI folder and paste new. Don't use merge files -Don't use Drag and Drop into EFI partition. Use Copy/Paste instead -Reset NVRAM one time - with OpenCore use entry "Reset Nvram" / with Clover use F11 key on boot screen -Guides and Tutorials HERE -Hackintosh Tutorial Database - HERE -The largest EFI folder collection for Hackintosh HERE -Support Olarila Vanilla Hackintosh by making a donation HERE -Professional Hackintosh Support since 2006 HERE
wms1124 Posted December 26, 2023 Author Posted December 26, 2023 I gave it a try and no success. I tried melding the efi made with yours and got nowhere quick I'm about to give up on this laptop I've tried dozens of configurations and can't get past mach reboot or with your efi about 50 lines or so. I thank you for your help if you can think of any other options let me know I know in the past you've helped a lot with various machines I've built those were desktops and intel much easier I did get one Ryzen desktop done in the past just the notebooks seem to not like me. Will.
