shabaa Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 I see that for installing the OS there are “Open Core Mod” folders available for download for various chipsets. What is the purpose or difference between the standard open core folder and the open core mod? Administrators MaLd0n Posted October 31, 2023 Administrators Posted October 31, 2023 OC Mod don't inject things on other systems like Windows, Linux. We dont need add _osi, etc on our files to avoid blue screen and other problems. -Guides and Tutorials HERE -Hackintosh Tutorial Database - HERE -The largest EFI folder collection for Hackintosh HERE -Support Olarila Vanilla Hackintosh by making a donation HERE -Professional Hackintosh Support since 2006 HERE
shabaa Posted November 2, 2023 Author Posted November 2, 2023 So if had two hard drives and I installed Sonoma on one and then put a second hard drive in and installed windows on it, should I be using the OCMod folder in the system on Sonoma? So as I understand this, if I choose to set the Sonoma drive as the primary boot drive and then select to boot to the windows drive, using the OCMod folder is a must? Is this correct? I really would like to make sure of this as I am using a hardware raid 0 assembly as my windows boot in a pcie x8 slot and really don’t want to loose it. I have removed the drive during my Somoma install so that no issues would present themselves. Administrators MaLd0n Posted November 2, 2023 Administrators Posted November 2, 2023 Not mandatory but we don't need any bootloader injecting things on our others systems. U can use things like _osi and other tricks for smbios, etc, OC Mod is just a clean and easy way. -Guides and Tutorials HERE -Hackintosh Tutorial Database - HERE -The largest EFI folder collection for Hackintosh HERE -Support Olarila Vanilla Hackintosh by making a donation HERE -Professional Hackintosh Support since 2006 HERE
