about the fn key patch when i apply it i get 201 errors the can't be fixes. its because i already patch it once but it still doesn't work for me???

You can't apply the patch twice, if it doesn't work maybe you need another PS/2 kext. Which one are you using?

I have a n53sn also. I need some advise.

Here is my config;

- Intel Core i5 2410M (2.3Ghz, 2 Cores, 4 Threads, Busratio 23)

- Intel HM65 Express Chipset

- 4 GB 1333MHz DDR3 SdRam (2x2Gb)

- Intel HD Graphics 3000 Mobile (DevId: 0x0116, Vendor: 0x8086)

- Nvidia GT 550M, 2Gb DDR3 VRAM (DevId: 0x0df6, Vendor: 0x10de)

- LCD panel resolution is 1920x1080 pixels.

- Atheros 9285 WiFi Card (Os X Recognized is as AirPort Extreme (0x168C, 0x1089))

- Realtek Gigabit RTL81XX Ethernet (DevId: 0x8168, Vendor: 0x10ec)

- Realtek ALC269 HD Audio Codec on Intel HD Audio

- Broadcom Bluetooth 2.1 over USB 2.0 (BT-270, DevId: 0x1788, Vendor: 0x0b05)

- Elan Multi-Touch PS/2 Touchpad

- Chicony 2.0 mpx Usb Webcam over USB 2.0 (DevId: 0xb1bb, Vendor: 0x04f2)

Working:

- Intel Core i5 2410M (Recognized correctly, but i have no any idea about SpeedStep)

- 4GB 1333 Mhz Ram (Works OOB)

- HM65 Chipset (Works OOB, also Sata devices are working good)

- Atheros 9285 (Works OOB, just add 2b line to Info.plist)

- Broadcom Bluetooth (Works OOB)

- DVD Writer (Works OOB)

- Realtek Gigabit Ethernet (Works with RealtekRTL81xx.kext)

- Battery Information (Works with VoodooBattery+AppleACPIPlatform.kext)

- Elan Touchpad (Working as a Mouse with ApplePS2Controller.kext+AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext)

- Realtek ALC269 (Working with VoodooHDA.kext)

Not Working:

- Nvidia GT 550M (Not important)

- Card Reader (Not important)

- Chicony Webcam (Could be nice if working)

- Sleep (Important)

- Shutdown (Important)

So, here we go:

- Intel Core i5 2410M

I applied SpeedStepper fix (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=258611).

But I think Speedstep is not working. Because fan exhaust always hot.

Battery life under Windows 7 is around 3 hours and 30 minutes. But under Os X around 2 hours and 15 minutes.

- Intel HD Graphics 3000 Mobile

It has dual link problem. Os X recognized it as well. But screen has green stretch problem.

I haven’t able to patch my DSDT.aml correctly. I’m getting 147 errors when I added duallink fix.

I do everything correctly (I have little bit programming skill, this way I’m doing fix correctly, but compiler occurring 147 errors, this is insane, i have no any idea why this is happening)

I tried another DSDT.aml (same machine N53SN). Graphics working but brightness gone. LCD Panel is working with almost half brightness.

If I delete all related AppleIntelHD*.kext, brightness is normal but have no QE/CI)

- Give me advise about;

What can I do about DSDT.aml patching for green screen artifacts?

What can I do about Brightness? I want full brightness.

What can I do about CPU SpeedStep? Fan is over heated.

What can I do about battery Life?

What can I do about sleep and shutdown?

where is your dsdt? is the same config with your laptop?

@macool hello. This is exactly my system. And i have full edited dsdt by Mald0n. Sleep shutdown restart works well. There is no dual link problem. Actually webcam works but photo booth and face time can't recognise it. For sleep i am also using patched AppleIntelCPUPowermanagment kext for 10.7.1 So if you make fresh install first use nullcpupowermanagment then update system to 10.7.1 and delete nullcpupowermanagment and replace AppleIntelCPUPowermanagment kext with patched one. In my org.chameleon.Boot.plist file i use UseKernelCache=Yes option. If it causes problem just delete it. About battery life yes it is same for me. I think it s because nvidia gpu also works in lion in the background. Fn keys dont work for me too. But i can change screen brightness via System settings/screens. I am also using modified IO80211 kext for atheros wifi. Here is my files

Hi macool. I think there is nothing to do about battery life. It is about same result when nvidia gpu is working under windows 7. Because we can't disable nvidia gpu trough bios it still consumes energy even though it doesn't work under lion.

There is should be a trick. How we able to disable nvidia gpu under windows 7? A software is switching it off.

May be someone can be code a tiny application to disable nvidia gpu? Is that not possible?

be patience cause on linux they have suceed it to make it work trought software is call Bumbleebee. take a look:

I don't want to be pessimist but even if it was ported to OS X i think we would still need OS X driver for nvidia gt 550m. Because it isn't supported yet officially. Also guys i need voodoo ps 2 x64 kext with trackpad. And I think fn keys is recognized but because of Apple PS2, the assigned keys is wrong. For example the pause break key increases screen brightness (My keyboard is EU version). Others does nothing.
