Z390 I Aorus Pro Wifi, i5 8500 UHD 630 Crashing/Random Freezing

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I have a running installation of Monterey 12.4 and I have patched my graphics/config file according to the WhateverGreen documents for UHD 630. I am using the EFI folder for Desktop CoffeeLake from here on Olarila. For some reason, the machine is very laggy when I get to the login screen and first login. After 1-2 minutes the lag goes away. Browser's randomly crash with error code "Aw Snap" error code 10 and error code 11. The machine will randomly lockup and freeze as-well. I have my bios settings set according to the installation guide. What is causing this random freezing/crashing? Graphics Acceleration is full supported/working and so is DRM.

Use last bios/uefi version

https://easyupload.io/zmbw04

-Bios/UEFI in full default settings(CSM to Disable with AMD GPU - Sata to Ahci - Secure Boot Disable on mobiles)
-Delete old EFI folder and paste new. Don't use merge files
-Don't use Drag and Drop into EFI partition. Use Copy/Paste instead
-Reset NVRAM one time - with OpenCore use entry "Reset Nvram" / with Clover use F11 key on boot screen

Hey! Thanks again, so the bios is the default, and the last version, did the change that you told me about.

https://easyupload.io/egrp8s this is the IoReg

On a positive note, the chrome issue disappeared, now the issues are:

Bluetooth not working anymore, with the original EFI was working

Black screen for 3 minutes before the login screen appears

some of the USBs stopped working

Thanks in advance
