Lukasius Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 Hey there, While trying to install Catalina in an Acer Aspire 5830T the following problems occured: The OpenCore Bootmenu doesn't recognize my keyboard (Even external USB-keyboards doesn't work) When the installer says "2 minutes left" it reboots, which is normal afaik but OC doesn't list a new bootoption. It boots directly to the beginning of the Catalinainstaller again. I tried to copy the EFI-Partition from the USB Stick to my SSD manually, which then gave me a second option in OC. It was automatically selected but then it just boots into a black screen. As a beginner in the whole Hackintosh topic, I kindly appreciate your help.

Lukasius Posted May 24, 2022 Author Posted May 24, 2022 (edited) I swapped out some files in the OC drivers folder and the keyboard is now working in OC bootmenu. I just tried copying the EFI files again using a macOS virtual mashine but still no success. However it might be necessary to know that the OC bootscreen only comes up when it boots via USB. When I remove my USB-Stick it doesn't find a bootable drive. So the EFI Partition on my SSD isn't working correctly, I guess. Edit: After mounting the EFI partition on my SSD, created by the macOS installer, there weren't any files on it. I believe that isn't normal too. Edited May 24, 2022 by Lukasius added Information
Lukasius Posted May 25, 2022 Author Posted May 25, 2022 I could fix the boot issue. Something was wrong with OC's APFS-Driver, which was the reason for not being able to boot into phase 2 of the macOS-installer. Currently I'm working on installing the legacy video patch, which gives me runtime errors while installing.
