Vikerness Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Hellow. based on your install instructions: If you want to install the boot loader in this partition and you use MBR (not GUID, like if you already have Windows in the HD), it must be a primary (not extended/logical) partition. Is it safe to asume the mbr kexts are already patched in and the installer works on mbr partitions, right ?
pernacabeluda Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Is it safe to asume the mbr kexts are already patched in and the installer works on mbr partitions, right ? Actually it's not a kext, but yes, the installer is patched to allow installation on MBR. -Guides and Tutorials HERE -Hackintosh Tutorial Database - HERE -The largest EFI folder collection for Hackintosh HERE -Support Olarila Vanilla Hackintosh by making a donation HERE -Professional Consulting for macOS Hackintosh since 2006 HERE
Vikerness Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 It did installed on the mbr but somewhere in the installer log i noticed something like "can not make disk bootable at this stage" "disk cannot be made bootable at all" The partition was made from windows with paragon hard disk manager and set to active After installation i cant boot from it at all. Chimera from multishit will say boot0:done then reboot the pc, i tried every instalation method from chameleon wizard and nothing works, manual chameleon installation doesnt work either getting stuck at the same boot0:done and clover will get stuck at the blinking line Help me understand please Edit: I've installed it on another drive, this time i made the partitions fat32 and reformatted it with disk utility to hfs+ before installation and now the boot loader worked .... Next (and hopefully last problem) is my gtx 570. Booting from usb i get the correct 1080p resolution but it freezes with a white screen. Booting directly from the HDD my video card isn't recognised at all (with GraphicsEnabler Yes and no PCIRoot as my id is 0) my res is 1280x1024 and everything is choppy. Edit2: So i've copied nvda* kexts from usb to hdd and if i boot from the hdd the monitor turns off but if i boot from the usb everything works. same kexts ! probably different boot arguments? but what....? Edit3: Got it working by also adding IGPEnabler No to Chameleon. DP8 or usb kexts though, GM ones wouldn't work
musadiqmanas Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Dear staff, I am facing problem in installing your provided OS X Mavericks on my HP-1000 Notebook. I downloaded "OS X Mavericks 10.9 GM bootable USB for Intel PCs" from thepiratebay, wrote it on my USB as per instructions given and booted it. It showed chimeron boot screen, touchpad was not working there, by chance I pressed space and it showed some options to boot, I selected one and it stuck on next screen, I tried all option and it did the same. I deleted vooodoo stuff, and using Transmac I deleted (System/Library/Extensions) and kernel cache. I again tried but it is still not working. It's my first experience with Mac OS X and I really want to have it on my laptop. Your kind guidance in this regard will be greatly appreciate. Plz let me know what would you like to ask more about my system and problem. Best Regards. PS: I have pictures of all screens but I dont know how to post pics.
pernacabeluda Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Try to add cpus=1 in boot args. You need to patch kernel or update Clover and enable PatchAPIC for it to work without the flag.

Dear sir, thanks a lot for so quick response, I beg your pardon but as I said I am new in this stuff, I would request you to kindly elaborate as to how can I "add cpus=1 in boot args" or the other things you suggested. Thanks indeed. PS: I am uploading the pics on my Gdrive and will post the link shortly Here is the link to pics: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BwSmHUJNHwp0RWZvUkdwb0FtNm8&usp=sharing

Now you can see it please. I beg your pardon, but plz tell me with a bit deatail as to where and how can I "enter the options menu" and "add the flag"..? I am a basic level user and I need guidance like "connect your usb - open BIOS - open so and so - do this and this" or "connect usb - open TransMac - open this folder on usb - do this and that" Thanks a lot for being so cooperative and kind. Regards. PS: if you mean to enter in options menu in boot screen, plz be informed that touchpad does not work there, I can only do one thing there and that is to press spacebar resulting in various boot options. pernacabeluda Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 If space bar works, arrow keys should work too. If they don't, the only suggestion I can give is to use Chameleon, read instruction in the opening post. In Chameleon screen, just type cpus=1 and press enter.

I am sure boss, only spacebar works there, I tried all keys. Okay I will try Chameleon and let you know the outcome later. Thanks a lot for your cooperation.

My apology sir, you were right, arrow keys were working actually in Clover boot screen but I could not notice that, my bad. Now I opened the options menu in Clover, modified it exactly as you said and booted again but result was same. It was stuck at same next screen. I tried again several boot options (verbos, without caches ets) but still no progress. Plz let me know what should I do now? Thanks indeed.
pernacabeluda Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 cpus=1 should work, I really don't have other idea. -Guides and Tutorials HERE -Hackintosh Tutorial Database - HERE -The largest EFI folder collection for Hackintosh HERE -Support Olarila Vanilla Hackintosh by making a donation HERE -Professional Consulting for macOS Hackintosh since 2006 HERE
musadiqmanas Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 cpus=1 should work, I really don't have other idea. Okay then I guess I should format the usb and start from zero again. May be I have done something wrong. I am repeating the whole procedure from writing the .raw file to usb. I will let you know about the outcome when I am done. thnx for ur kind cooperation.
musadiqmanas Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Dear staff, as I said, I repeated the whole procedure, .raw file written successfully on usb, then I booted with no modification other than adding cpus=1 in bootrags... this time it went a few further than lost time stuck screen (pic available at below link as Stuck1).. then I deleted kernel cache + \system\library\elements as suggested in opening post by the uploader.. Then I booted using various options (without caches, verbos mode etc), also by modifying boot args and without modifying it.. but now it sticks immediately showing Stuck2 screen (link is given below)... Any guidance in this regard will be highly appreciated. Thanks. Vikerness Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 I deleted kernel cache + \system\library\elements as suggested in opening post by the uploader.. Stuck2 is because you deleted too much inside system\libraries\extensions Only delete video drivers and/or exact drivers that you know are causing problems. Not everything inside and preferably no more than 1 driver at a time, in your case just the bluetooth driver maybeTo get past stuck1 try booting in safe mode: -x or maybe: -x -v npci=0x2000 cpus=1
KrLx_roller Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 (edited) Hi all! After attempting several times to install Mavericks, I've reached a point that I cannot pass trough. These are the steps I followed (this is a mini tutorial I've created to install Mavericks on my Asus K55VD laptop). 0- Video kexts deleted from image in order to boot properly 1- Write image 2- Boot Installer from USB wihout flags 3- Install OS 4- Boot OS from USB with flags: -s 5- Move video kexts: 5.1- mount -uw / 5.2- cd /System/Library/Extensions 5.3- mkdir /kext_backup 5.4- mv AppleIntelHD* AppleIntelSNB* AppleIntelFramebuffer* AMDRadeon* ATI* GeForce* NVDA* kext_backup 5.5- touch ../Extensions 5.6- reboot 6- Configure OS and install: 6.1- Install Chameleon bootloader 6.2- Chamaleon Wizard: 6.2.1- Create /Extra folder 6.2.2- BOOT - GUI, Laptop, Graphics Mode (1366x768x32), Device Properties(*) 6.2.3- Duplicate org.chameleon.Boot.plist and rename to SMBios.plist 6.2.4- SMBIOS - MacBook Air (5,2) - Core i5/i7 (Ivy Bridge) 6.2.5- BOOT - SMBios.plist 6.3- Install multishit: 6.3.1- Graphics 6.3.1.1- Intel Graphics Patch for Mixed Configurations 6.3.2- Misc 6.3.2.1- ElliottForceLegacyRTC 6.3.2.2- EvOreboot 6.3.2.3- NullCPUPowerManagement 6.3.2.4- PS/2 Keyboard/Mice and Trackpads 6.3.2.5- USB 3.0 - Universal by Zenith432 6.3.3- Network 6.3.3.1- Realtek - Lnx2Mac's Realtek RTL81xx v0.0.90 6.3.4- Chimera v2.2.1 6.3.5- Chameleon Theme 2.2 Default 6.3.6- Install 7- Reboot and boot OS with flags: -v (*)-5e0000000100000001000000520000000100000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000003006601 The device properties string is used to enable HD4000 graphics (I used it to enable them in Snow Leopard). The problem is that when everything is installed and I reboot my laptop (step 7), it get stucked at "missing bluetooth controller transport". I know this is due to video drivers but I deleted all of them. I've also avoided to install Graphics on step 6.3.1.1 but still get stucked there. On the Extensions folder there's no video kexts and entering in single user mode I cannot find anything relevant. I've also tried to boot with -x flag but no luck. I suspect that the problem is the device properties string (I repeat that this string is the one I used with the installation of Snow Leopard and it worked very well) or the Graphics Mode that I set to 1366x768x32 (the laptop screen resolution) that in Snow Leopard was working as well. Do someone have an idea of what I am missing or what can I do? I'm lost right now, I don't know anything else I can do to get it working. Any idea will be tested! Thank you very much in advance! Not everything inside and preferably no more than 1 driver at a time, in your case just the bluetooth driver maybeTo get past stuck1 try booting in safe mode: -x or maybe: -x -v npci=0x2000 cpus=1 I repeated all again, delete kernel cache + bluetooth driver + video drivers as suggested by the uploader in 1st post (Intel), then I booted using various options but again stuck, at last one thing worked and I got past to Installer screen. The option that worked was: Change boot args to: -v npci=0x2000 cpus=1 _ point to be noted is that we not only have to add cpus=1 in bootargs but we need to add a space as well. So now I am at installer screen, I know what to do here but problem is that touchpad isn't working. And on keyboard, only tab and space bar are working and they change only 2 options on installer screen, i.e. "continue" and the "back". Any suggestion how can I get my touchpad working to use Disk Utility to format the partition where I wanna install Mavericks. Or how can I do it using keyboard...? An early response would be highly appreciated. Thanks. Do I need to add the driver for my touchpad in \system\library\extensions..?

Yes you can add a kext in that folder in order to get touchpad working e.g PS/2 Keyboard/Mice and Trackpads from multishit (you can get it unzipping the file from Windows), but I'd suggest you to connect a USB mouse to avoid problems when booting the installer. And I think you don't need your keyboard if using a mouse to finish the installation.
