Monterey on Lenovo X1 Yoga 3rd gen

Hello,

I have a 3rd generation Lenovo X1 Yoga laptop and I would like to install macOS Monterey.

I created a macOS Monterey installation usb key with the "create install media" command.

I copied the Clover folder for laptop with Kaby Lake processor on the usb key.
I press F12 to be able to boot on the USB key but the usb key does not boot.

I copied the same Clover folder to the EFI partition of the internal ssd and created
a UEFI boot entry with Easy UEFI software on Windows, but that doesn't boot either.

Can someone tell me how to start Clover from usb key or ssd on this computer?

Help would be greatly appreciated :)

Hello,

I have restored the BIOS defaults parameters and I was able to install Monterey.

But these peripherals don't work :

- touchpad, joystick, wifi and bluetooth, audio

My Wi-Fi and Bluetooth card is an Intel 8265 : does it work with macOS?

Hello MaLdOn,

Thank you for your help,

I have installed AsusSMC-1.4.1-RELEASE but there is no change
I am not sure if I did properly.

- I put AsusSMC.kext in OpenCore kexts folder and add an entry in config.plist
- I run the command in install_daemon.sh

I use OpenCore on the ssd

macOS boot to desktop but the peripherals still don't work.

Hello,

I managed to make touchpad, joystick, wifi and touch screen work.

Can you help me for audio and bluetooth?

For the bluettoh, I have added these two kexts but then macOS does not boot:

IntelBluetoothFirmware.kext

IntelBluetoothInjector.kext

Thanks :)

Hello,

I have added AppleALC.kext in OpenCore and "-alcid=11" in boot arguments and now sound works : thanks :)

When I add IntelBluetoothInjector.kext and IntelBluetoothFirmware.kext in OpenCore, macOS boots very slowly and in system parameters I can not open Bluetooth panel and Wifi does not work.

Hello mapomme... that's great news... can you share? What kext and/or patches are needed for touch screen? (I have a Yoga 260)

I only have one recommendation for wifi and bluetooth: buy a BCM9460-CS2.

I had an intel wifi working in Big Sur, but when I upgraded to Monterey, it was VERY unstable. Maybe in the near future it will improve.

Hello,

Here is a link to my OpenCore folder

OpenCore folder for Monterey on Lenovo X1 Yoga 3rd gen 2018

I can't tell you what I exactly did because the folder is a mix between multiple OpenCore folders I have found on internet.
Maybe there are extra files and settings and some are missing.

Hope it helps! :)

List of what is working :

- WiFi
- Bluetooth
- Keyboard
- Joystick
- Touchpad
- Touchscreen
- Sleep
- USB 3.0 Type A ports
- Audio

- microSD card reader
- battery
