Hey scorpioserv,

How did you get sleep and sound on your system? I have an HP dv6-1253cl laptop that just had Lion 10.7 installed on it with no dsdt. I have gotten everything to work well except the sound and sleep feature (and the cpus=1 problem, but will try the kernel patch on this thread). I have the same sound card as you and have tried the GenerateCStates and GeneratePStates=yes on the apple.boot.plist.

Can you upload the kexts you used to get your sound and sleep working? Or some advice?

I just tried the modified mach_kernel on my system and it fixed the need to use cpus=1 ! My computer is faster than ever, and my geekbench score has doubled from the previous score (although it took longer to finish the benchmark this time).

Mine is still running like a dream, thanks to MaLd0n - I have almost everything working, just the geekbench still will not run, dunno why but I am not too concerned about it, glad to see you got your working on this modified kernel too.

Glad to hear your system is still working. I was worried this fix won't last long, since I would get a kernel panic if I didn't boot in verbose mode. But I added

kernel

mach_kernel

to the apple.boot.plist, and so far everything is great. Anyway, how did you get sound and sleep to work on your system? Those are the only two issues that are keeping me away from full system functionality.

By the way, did you get your SD card reader working yet? I found a kext that works well on Lion. If you need it, just let me know.

I tried everything i found , tried some commands as well but no luck at all. The dvd starts to load and at some point just stops, i never got to the screen for choosing the language. Can you please help me. What did you use to boot and install the Lion ?

this is the only way I could boot, also I used an external monitor as the internal would not work with the version of iboot I had at that time, although I think it would now work with the latest iboot with Chimera boot loader.

i tried it. the dvd starts booting and when it gets to "System uptime in nanoseconds: 2936402931" it stops and nothing happens after. Any suggestions?

The DSDT that is attached could be ok also for my notebook??

Use cpus=1 to install, then you need "lapic kernel" to be able to use all cores.

Yes, also whit the downloaded kernel. But I'm not sure regardig the procedure that I have followed, in particular I have put the match_kernel file in the /extra folder of the boot partition, it's correct?

No, you have to put it in the root of the partition, replacing the original mach_kernel, or you can use other name/path, but then you need to edit the "Kernel" key in Boot.plist with the new name/path.
