Mac OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion bootable USB for Intel PCs

Hello there!

My setup is: Acer 7750G, Intel Core i7(2Ghz), 4Gb DDR3 ram, Intel HD3000 + AMD Radeon HD 6650M(2Gb), Athereos WLan+Lan, Realtek Sound etc...

I'm using Clover(v2.09) and I get panic every time before I reach the installer.

I've only deleted Nvidia and Intel graphic kexts, (but the system behaved totally the same when Kernelcache and ALL graphics kexts were removed).

When I use the default bootflags of Clover with only -f (instead of -v) bootflag I can see instantly the apple logo but it crashes a few moments later, otherwise I see the black background loading of the drivers and panic.

Please help me I'm new to this as you can see and I've been for 3 days now:(

Regard,

Zsolt

Changing to Chameleon bootloader and booting with "-f GrapicsEnabler=No" worked for me and I succesfully managed to complete the installation. Thank you for the help!

(Edit: All graphics kexts and kernelcache were removed with TransMac.)

Okay, I solved the crackling issue.. After all tries, the problem was the bootloader.. I used Chimera, Chameleon, Clover.. I installed all kinds of bootloaders and then I tried to boot from the USB's bootloader (Clover, version older i think) and the audio was crackling just a bit.. I enabled SSE2 and now it's perfect. I moved the USB's Clover to EFI of my main volume and now it's all good with sound..

Just a silly question.. Everytime I restart my computer I have to enable SSE2 and to put 48000 Hz in Audio Midi Setup. Is there a way to make that change forever? Because it's a bit boring to always check that every time I restart my pc? Other than that, it's great!

Thanks pernacabeluda for everything!

NTFS -fs warning (device /dev/disk0s3, pid 112): ntfs_system_inodes_get():Windows is hibernated. Will not be able to remount read-write. Run chkdsk.

Was my old error. after moving the kexts I now have:

NTFS -fs warning (device /dev/disk0s3, pid 76): ntfs_system_inodes_get():Windows is hibernated. Will not be able to remount read-write. Run chkdsk.

If you want to use Chameleon press 1 at boot

at which point do I press "1"? on boot-up, I press F8 on Asus board to select boot device

1. do I highlight the USB installer, press 1 then press enter?

2. do I highlight the USB installer, press enter then 1? (if i don't press 1 here, i am presented with the Clover bootloader)

Since I tried option #2 yesterday, it booted in Verbose mode, then came back out to the Apple Screen with the rotating wheel and did not progress further. Do I delete the Intel or whatever kexts using transmac?

Hello!

This is my first Hackintosh install and honestly, I need some help since I have been trying to install this for 3 days but I am having some problems that aren't allowing me to do it right.

First of all, my computer:

Intel i7 2600K

Gigabyte GA-Z68P-DS3 Rev 1.0 BIOS F4

2 x G Skill F3-12800CL9-4GBXL

MSI GeForce GT520

Essentially, the problem I am facing is the message "System uptime in nanoseconds: xxxxxxxxx". This happens while booting, before the installation starts.

I have tried:

- Adding the DSDT.aml of my motherboard to the extra folder. No success.

- Deleting the graphic video kexts. This leads to a message that says "PCI Configuration Begin".

- Adding some arguments (I don't remember each of them, they were several) like:

-v -x PCIRootUID=0 npci=0x2000 GraphicsEnabler=No

I have been reading a lot but I have no idea of what to do.

Which way should I go?

Thank you.

Hello Artur, thanks for answering.

Here is my config:

ACPI 2.0 support - Does not appear in my BIOS.

ACPI APIC support - Does not appear in my BIOS.

Execute Disable Bit (NX bit) - If it is the same as "No-Execute memory protect", then it is Enabled.

HPET support (High Precision Event Timer) - Enabled.

Enhanced Intel SpeedStep - Does not appear in my BIOS.

Enhanced Halt State (C1E) - Does not appear in my BIOS.

HPET mode: 64-bit - OK

SATA mode: AHCI - OK

Limit maximum CPUID: Disabled - OK

I didn't change anything, that was also the config I was using to boot to the installation.

Hello

At the moment, I am using the default USB image so, if nullcpupowermanagement.kext is inside by default, yes I am using it.

The integrated gpu is disabled.

Also, now I am getting PCI Configuration Begin everytime I try. Now the nanoseconds message doesnt appear. I didnt change anything!

Thanks

Remove /System/Library/Extensions/AppleGraphicsControl.kext/Contents/PlugIns/ApplePolicyControl.kext and add -f to your boot flags.

You are using 10.8 GM (kernel 12.0.0) and not 10.8.4 (kernel 12.4.0) which this topic is about. In 10.8.4 image I added a disabler for this problematic kext.

Removed and back to the "PCI Configuration Begin" message again.

Facepalm :?

I am going to try with this new kernel to see what happens.

Thanks!

Yeah!

Finally working with this flags:

-x -f GraphicsEnabler=No npci=0x2000

The last time I tried only the flag "-f".

Go to install to see what happens.

Thanks!!!

Hello back!

I thought it would be better to install 10.8.4 instead of 10.8 and then upgrade, so I downloaded the usb image from this thread.

Although I can boot the 10.8 image, I can't boot this new 10.8.4 image. I mean, the boot continues to the existing Windows installation right after POST.

Tried this using Suse Image Writer, Win32 Disk Imager and UnetBootin.

Any idea?

Thanks.

P.S: Everything is configured in the BIOS, as the 10.8 USB image boots properly.
