xalucardx Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I did that already and it was booting fine but still no sleep, I get a white screen when selecting sleep I get a warning on boot on power management with or without your dsdt http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/836/img20130131093425.jpg/
xsmile Posted January 31, 2013 Author Posted January 31, 2013 This is normal and not related to Sleep. If you are using patched extensions to enable Sleep or power management, revert back to the original Apple versions. They include AppleACPIPlatform, AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement, NullCPUPowerManagement. Can you post your boot.log? I think Chameleon places it in the root of the volume. 10.9 @ Asus P8Z77-V LK [ALC892, ASM1042, RTL8168], Core i5-3570k, XFX HD 7870
xalucardx Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 here the boot.log meanwhile ill try to deal with a new issue... suddenly it stoped working again... *edit* i reinstalled and now i can boot normaly with Intell HD 4000 The only things installed so far: Ethernet kext Chameleon Enoch rv2170 HW Monitor in you OP Stock DSDT OS is 10.8.3 (12D61) Next I'll do is edit your DSDT again with my memory values then upload both boot logs
xalucardx Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 for some unexplainable reason sleep started working and so the GPU , how do i check if FB is working? if i load you DSDT it stays trying to load some aduio stuff i think even tho i installed the AppleHDA you posted
xsmile Posted February 1, 2013 Author Posted February 1, 2013 To load a framebuffer you can use Chameleon's AtiConfig option or alternatively you put it in the DSDT with the patch I posted earlier. You can see what exactly gets loaded with IORegistryExplorer. Open the path PCI0:PEG0:GFX0(/PEGP) and you will see the recognized ports as @0 to @n with the name of the framebuffer in them. The audio assertion messages are normal. Can you boot with the original AppleHDA from 10.8.3? Please attach the boot logs 10.9 @ Asus P8Z77-V LK [ALC892, ASM1042, RTL8168], Core i5-3570k, XFX HD 7870
xalucardx Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 is the boot log is the boot file in the drive root? , yeas i can boot with both aundio files but w/o the DSDT, also for some reason now it doesnt wanna boot with the gpu and only with the Intel HD trying to check what the problem is boot.zip
xalucardx Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Ok i found what the issue is and is no other than the DVI, if i boot and as soon as the screen goes black i unplug the dvi and then sleep works, plug the dvi back and the it wakes up and i get video , if i leave the dvi plugged in sleep doesn't work instead of waking up is restarts, i still cant find the boot log you told me ,FB appears to be loaded i added bdmesg and IOService *edited* IOService.zip dbmesg.zip
xsmile Posted February 1, 2013 Author Posted February 1, 2013 This behavior is new to me. bdmesg is what I was looking for. Here some parts of it: Please specify 96, 64, or 32MB RAM for the HD4000 in the bios. The selected 16MB RAM configuration is not supported for the HD4000. I guess it's better to change it. SystemInformation: manufacturer: Apple Inc. productName: MacBookPro10,1 I see you got MacBookPro setup in your SMBIOS. This might not be the optimal choice as Mac loads different drivers according to the SMBIOS preferences. Use Chameleon Wizard to create an iMac13,1 smbios.plist and place it into /Extra - this is what I have found to be working well. Can you type "sudo dmesg" after a reboot into Terminal and attach the output? 10.9 @ Asus P8Z77-V LK [ALC892, ASM1042, RTL8168], Core i5-3570k, XFX HD 7870
xalucardx Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Yeah I got the Intel to 96mb on bios, but if I boot with GE=yes that message shows up, I'll do what u said in a couple of minutes and will attach
xalucardx Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 i forgot to say that i get CMOS reset after i try to wake up
xsmile Posted February 1, 2013 Author Posted February 1, 2013 I had this too sometimes and wasn't sure if I should mention it. After applying the AppleRTC patch it didn't happen anymore. This was before I modified my DSDT though; it is possible the patch is obsolete with the edits. Nevertheless I kept the setting in Clover as it shouldn't have any disadvantages. 10.9 @ Asus P8Z77-V LK [ALC892, ASM1042, RTL8168], Core i5-3570k, XFX HD 7870
xalucardx Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 I don't know if it's my card but if I choose iMac 13,1 I doesn't boot
xsmile Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 It must be something else. What happens exatlcy? Where does it stop? 10.9 @ Asus P8Z77-V LK [ALC892, ASM1042, RTL8168], Core i5-3570k, XFX HD 7870
xalucardx Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 After it recognized the GPU on slot-1, I really gave up since I've waisted like 4 straight days only trying to make it work when I get it working it stop working after a couple of reboots, if I read the DSDT with DSDT editor it comes out with errors w/o adding patches or anything, I appreciate your help very much, maybe ill try again later
xsmile Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 Take your time. The errors can be fixed using DSDT Editor automatically and you can ignore the warnings I guess. Just don't give up EDIT: Here is a patchset I used earlier that might help you. patchset_vga_audio.zip 10.9 @ Asus P8Z77-V LK [ALC892, ASM1042, RTL8168], Core i5-3570k, XFX HD 7870
xalucardx Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 i was able to boot and sleep/wake w/o any issues for now , i thing the problem on boot is if i set the bios video to PCIE it doesnt work , it has to be AUTO for sme reason , my DSDT is showing errors w/o any edit , i just read it with DSDT editor and shows errors and if i apply a patch and try to use the modified DSDT it just hangs
xsmile Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 I can boot with the PCIE setting but you have to inject the framebuffer either with Chameleon or via DSDT. The ACPI tables including DSDT you can extract from your BIOS were made with a compiler from 2005 so some things might be interpreted differently now and it is not guaranteed to be completely bug free either. Try to set it to PCIE and disable Virtu MVP so only the AMD card is enabled. Where does it hang exactly? Do you see any errors? 10.9 @ Asus P8Z77-V LK [ALC892, ASM1042, RTL8168], Core i5-3570k, XFX HD 7870
xalucardx Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 i used DSDT patcher the your patch and now everithyng works just fine , sleep havent do the CMOS reset anymore and graphics get recognized as XFX (its gigabyte tho) but works fine , thanks alot for your help iMac is also working and it boots very fast
xsmile Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 The name is cosmetic. You can search your DSDT for "XFX Radeon HD 7870" and replace it with anything you want. Good to know you got everything working. EDIT: You might want to try to setup SSDTs next: http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=22414#p22414 10.9 @ Asus P8Z77-V LK [ALC892, ASM1042, RTL8168], Core i5-3570k, XFX HD 7870
