cvalencia Posted August 29, 2021 Posted August 29, 2021 Hi, this is my hardware: MOBO: Gigabyte Z590M Gaming X PROC: Intel Core i9-10900KF RAM: Patriot Viper 4 Blackout Series DDR4 3200 MHz Video: MSI Radeon RX 580 8GB STORAGE: Sabrent 1TB Rocket NVMe WiFi and Bluetooth: YOUBO Dual Band WiFi Card BCM94360CD I plan to install an Thunderbolt 4 card (Gigabyte GC-Maple Ridge - Intel JHL8540), but have not yet purchased it. In order to install macOS Big Sur, I had to use an EFI that I found on github, because with your EFI (the generic one for the 500 series) something prevents the system from booting and it stays on "SMCSuper IO ssio: @ failed to detect supported Super IO chip": https://prnt.sc/1qnfk08 For some reason the "runme.zip" is 11MB and the web site only allows me to upload 9.7MB. So I share it with you through this website (it expires in a week automatically): https://we.tl/t-reKKivNjyF Thanks

cvalencia Posted August 30, 2021 Author Posted August 30, 2021 Hi, I am trying to do a fresh install using the EFi you shared with me (to see where it sticks I modified the boot-arg), but it gets stuck almost in the same part as the EFI 500 Series: https://prnt.sc/1qrsi8e

What has me puzzled and with my little knowledge of OC I have not been able to identify, is that I think that if it was something in my BIOS setup (please correct me if I'm wrong) this EFI (https://github.com/SchmockLord/Gigabyte-Z590i-Vision-D-11900k) would also have to get that error. But with that EFI even though it is for another mobo and it is not well built (you told me before), that boot without error and allows me to do the Big Sur installation without any problem; obviously, when finished, some components of my hardware don't work (some USB ports, Ethernet ...). Please help me to identify (I don't know if based on that EFI) what I might need to use your well created EFI/DSDT. Thank you very much for all your help. What other information or screenshots should I send you to please help me?

cvalencia Posted September 1, 2021 Author Posted September 1, 2021 Hi, a thousand apologies for bothering you so much. With the last EFI that you shared with me I was able to do the installation and I am waiting to run the usbmap because some ports do not work. (I haven't had time yet.) But the hibernation is not working, although the OS tries (and it takes a long time), as soon as it enters hibernation, it immediately reactivates. I really appreciate your help.
