sevenday4 Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 I am trying to install Big Sur 11.2 using the installer for AMD 2700x Asus b450 but my keyboard was not registering for me to be able to move cursor to install. I have used the EFI folder from Olarila since the original would give me kernel panic. My keyboard is a US 102 keyboard. Any idea how I can get the installer to work with my keyboard?

sevenday4 Posted August 17, 2021 Author Posted August 17, 2021 I was thinking of that. I am wondering if the USB mapping is getting mixed up, will try this tomorrow. My machine wouldn't update from Catalina to Big Sur, it would just freeze, I'm guessing from kernel panic but can't seem to get the point where the installer panics. I had Big Sur 11.1 working, but lost it when I was trying to fix a Linux problem. I will try your suggestion tomorrow and let you know what the result is.
sevenday4 Posted August 18, 2021 Author Posted August 18, 2021 I was able to fix the keyboard issue with the installer. But, when trying to update or install Big Sur 11.5.2 I keep getting kernel panics. I had lost 11.5.1 which did install without issue. I have installed the updating/installation log, maybe you can figure it out. Installer Log 18-Aug-2021.rar

sevenday4 Posted August 18, 2021 Author Posted August 18, 2021 Yes I did, but I am wondering if I missed something. I'll let you know if I can find the issue. I'm too stubborn to give up.
sevenday4 Posted August 24, 2021 Author Posted August 24, 2021 I have finally succeeded in updating to Big Sur 11.2 on my machine. I needed the AMD kext as well as installing opencore 7.2.
viniciusalx Posted October 12, 2021 Posted October 12, 2021 I have a B450m Steel Legend and during the instalation, only usb 3 ports are working. Try to connect your mouse/keyboard only on usb 3 ports.
