CurvedAir Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Last year, (2020) I succesfully installed Mojave and Catalina on my rig. This year I tried installing Olarila Big Sur (11.1), but after about 30 lines the installer quits, also after resetting NVRAM. So I tried Olarila Mojave instead, but the installer quits just before switching to the graphic user interface (The famous Apple with the progressbar). Downloading Olarila Catalina now, but don't suppose it will work. Windows 10 works fine, it's installed on a separate SSD (Intel 525 mSata, 60 GB). Hardware: Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H, Intel i5 3570K, 16 GB ram. Intel 60 GB mSata (on the mainboard) and 250 GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD. HDMI connection with LG 49 inch flatscreen. Bios: F28b, secure boot disabled, UEFI mode, other os selected, AHCI activated. EFI partition was created on the Samsung SSD by Windows (though it should be on the Intel SSD, but it works, and worked before) So as far as I can see everything should work fine. Any ideas? Update: a few minutes ago I tried to install Olarila Catalina, but it's the same old story: video switches off just before loading the GUI.

CurvedAir Posted January 21, 2021 Author Posted January 21, 2021 I really don't know about the support for BigSur, but there were succesfull Hackintosh installations in the past: Catalina, Mojave, High Sierra and so on. But also the old iterations won't install anymore: video cuts off before loading the GUI. Already checked the BIOS-settings and tried different options without any cure.
