mhprol Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Heya! Make sure you've set your BIOS Controller setting to AHCI (you might need a custom BIOS for this in some older motherboards). Also make sure the partition you created is a Primary partition, not a Logical partition, and that it is the Active partition. (you can use Parted Magic to make sure it's correctly configured, it's free and very easy to use http://partedmagic.com/doku.php?id=start) Good luck!
Pls translate thisMy problem now is that every time I try to boot from the hard drive where I installed the OS X it freezes at "still waiting for root device" My specs are: intel i3 processor ATI video card SATA hard drives Hail Caesar! It translates to: "For those who have the 'still waiting for root device' when using kernelcache (or that only work when using -f), apply this patch to add a 200ms delay when loading the IOAHCIBlockStorage kext, thus solving the problem. Basically, just install the updated patch posted there and reboot. Good luck!

alexannder12 Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Hello I tried NPCI = 0x2000 and 0x3000 and continues rebooting before beginning installation. I do not understand the kext. Where I have to put it? Because in the pendrive Windows will not let me put anything else, just gives me the option to format to not recognize the format. Greetings and thanks. By Google Translator

mhprol Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 ACPI gives me error and restarts before beginning installation. Attached image of failure. What I can do? Hey alexannder, Your boot is failing right after attempting to read the kext(driver) cache. You can either remove it using Transmac (delete Extra/Extensions.mkext and System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/Extensions.mkext) or use "-f" during boot to ignore the cache and see if it gets through. @prashanthzz @stomp94 @Mko.rocco Guys, boot using "-v" (verbose mode) and post a picture of the system when it halts. If it still reboots during verbose mode without giving you a moment to see what went wrong, use "-v Wait=Yes" Good luck!
nickxcore Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Hi, I downloaded the bootable usb .raw file off TPB and I am having some troubles with my setup. First my specs.. Intel Xeon E3110 (Overclocked at 3.6 at the moment) DFI Inc. LP DK P35 (Socket 775) Motherboard ATI Radeon HD 4800 GFX Card Currently I am running Windows 7 on my main drive and was going to install Mountain Lion on a seperate drive to dual boot. I setup the partition on the second drive in windows and formatted it to fat32 so in Disk Utility I can reformat it to Journaled when in OSX installation. The problem is I have not been able to get to the installation. I boot into my usb and everytime it blinks black and restarts after reading through kexts. I have tried every terminal input I can find on here (-v, -f, -s , -x, npci=0x2000, graphicsenabler=no -f, pcirootuid=0 etc) I finally found the command that will let it wait before restarting and I got some pictures, I warn you they are awful as I am using a 20$ at&T go phone at the moment. The first one which I imagine has the error files in question look to be cutoff, I am going to try and get a better picture or at least write them own and post again where they are cutoff. Any help would be great. Thanks guys! No partitions, no other stuff. I have installed on my pendrive only the RAW file, no other program listed here. Anybody here can give me a hand ? much appreciated EDIT: I managed to boot ML. Now other issues ahead such as video and network. I'll keep it up. Edited November 11, 2012 by Guest Core2duo E4500 2.20ghz Mobo Gigabyte GA g31M 2sl Nvidia 9550 GT Windows 7 ultimate.
