Please use specific topic for post install questions (video on the ATI topic, for example), this one is just for install issues using the USB image.

If you can't find a related topic, create a new one, post your full hardware specs, a System Info screenshot helps http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=63

Now regarding the above, FakeSMC.kext, NullCPUPowerManagement.kext & VoodooPS2Controller.kext are already part of the USB installer as mentioned above. Or do i need to do something?

Yes, they are on the USB, but you need to install them to the HD, as well as the boot loader (Chameleon) to be able to boot without the installer USB.

Did you install NullCPUPM?

While you don't have power management fixed, you will probably need NullCPUPowerManagement.kext.

Hi guys very nice work you did with this usb installer.

Now i have a favor to ask you Cassio, I've noticed that you have the same notebook as me, so could you please send me the kexts that you've installed after a fresh install?

Wifi its working from the beginning (with my dsdt), but i have no sound and my trackpad isn't working either.

Also if you have any more improvements like showing the battery icon and get a better graphics performance i'm glad to hear you.

Thanks for your help!

Hi all!

Thanks a lot for your work, the installation was super fast, and Mountain Lion starts perfectly!

The only problem is that I can only see my other Windows HD, and my flashdrive, but the main Mountain Lion HD doesn't appear...

SATA mode is set to AHCI (I was running Lion before), and I tried changing it to other modes but nothing...

I also tried to search folders as "Library", but "that folder doesn't exist".

I can't do anything without that, and can't install kext or chameleon.

Any suggestions?

My config:

MB: ASUS P8P67PRO

HD: SSD OCZ AGILITY3 120 GB

GC: NVIDIA GTX 560ti (ASUS)

thank you! (sorry for my english, I'm spanish)

Followed everything, and it installed fine. I am able to boot into the system using the boot USB, but once I get in I can't do anything. The setup that runs on first boot created my account as a standard account, so there's no admin account. I tried removing .applesetupdone and it *did* redo that setup, but to the same effect-- no admin account, two standard user accounts.

I have tried various methods in single-user mode to create a new account, but none of them work, most all commands error out with "the daemon encountered an error..." or something more cryptic. EDIT: something as simple as "passwd administrator" comes back with the daemon error specified earlier. Running dseditgroup to try to add my standard user to the admin group comes back with "getNodeRef failed to obtain a node reference."

Any ideas?

EDIT: If it helps, I'm also seeing the same thing as Burnoutagain here: http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1627&start=60#p14017

Perhaps it's related to the same issue?

Burnoutagain-- if you read this can you check your user accounts and see if you have an admin?

EDIT again: Apparently third time is a charm. I'm in and everything seems to be working properly -- at least to get it running. Loads of driver issues though. Burnout-- you have to tell it to show you fixed disks in the preferences.

Hi Guys! Managed to get sound and the battery indicator but I still have perfomance issues with the video. I've tried to load the legacy kext that i've found on another thread but it didn't get loaded (i know it didnt load because when i ran kextstat on the terminal it didnt appear).

Can someone help me?

I have a Asus n53jq the same as Cassio.

Thanks!

Hi,

Great guide!

After the installition, I tried boot the drive, but I'm getting stuck.

Attach the picture of chameleon output.

What's the matter?

EDIT: I installed the OSX to 250GB USB DRIVE. There is an installed Win7 on my laptop's HDD.

I am having the some problem, Installation went fine but first boot always freezes here. The thing is I am able to boot when I update from 10.7.3, but not when I do a clean install.

BTW thanks for this, you are a genius, I've been trying to get ML on my machine for a while now and so far this is the only one thats has worked.

HP Envy 17 2070nr • CPU: Intel Core i7-2630QM 2GHz • RAM: 12GB • HD: 1.5TB • GPU: AMD Radeon 6850M 1GB • OS: Mountain Lion 10.8.0 • Lion 10.7.3 • Window 8 RP • Windows 7 SP1

Thanks for reply, I have just now managed to get it working! Using my MacBook Pro, I connected the ML drive and installed the null and fake kext, then run Chameleon Wizard to sort out the other bits. I did get problems with video but I resolved that, it's a bit glitchy and I'm back to using cpus=1 but overall it's good. Thanks very much for putting this together, much appreciated. :D

Hi all!!

After trying and trying, I finally decided to reinstall ML formatting the HD.

Now my Disk Utility recognize my SSD, and I can perfectly use it.

After installing all the kext and making the App Store/iCloud working (that was hard), I'm now stuck with the chameleon part. I still need my USB installer to boot ML, but I will post it on the "boot0:error" topic.

panickedthumb--> Yes, my user seems to be an administrator account, and even created a new standard user.

Thank you all for your work!
