esmith1966 Posted January 2, 2021 Posted January 2, 2021 (edited) Motherboard : Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 7 CPU is 9900k Intel, RAM is maxed out, SSD is 500 gb with a 2nd files HD and a 2 TB backup HD Bios is F11 as I understood that later bios were problematic... I have a Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 7 Big Sur machine that was working fine until I updated OC. Somehow, even after I restored the EFI folder, it would not boot from the SSD However it does boot from a USB AND I am able to install a clean install onto another SSD. BUT... it does not boot all the way to login screen. Somehow the system hangs at PCI configuration begins... But this is only when one boots from the HD... The exact same EFI folder is OK from a USB drive. I don't know how to fix this. Attached is my OC EFI folder that was working as of yesterday morning. Attached is what happens when I boot from the HD I have two matching machines... One can boot from a USB drive all the way into Big Sur... Neither can boot from SSD all the way in... Can someone examine the EFI folder and indicate what's the issue... attachments Image from computer EFI folder Bios settings I have a feeling its a simple thing, but do not have the foggiest idea as to what it might be... I can reset and reconfigure the BIOS, but not sure if its that. The strange thing is that I am able to boot with a USB install drive and make it all the way to the "install big sur" screen... PLEASE help as best as anyone is able. IMG_4703.thumb.jpeg.5ef5d29b4212552123448e9078564e04.jpeg.zip EFI.zip z370Bios.rtf.zip Edited January 2, 2021 by esmith1966
