Help: BigSur installation freezing at "LOG:EXITBS:START"

Recommended Posts

I used to have Mojave and Catalina working perfectly, today I download the BigSur from the torrent link and when boot it up it keeps freezing at "LOG:EXITBS:START", checked my BIOS and didn't find any odd settings, it's the usual stuff that worked on Catalina, what can I do about this error?

Thank you

Hi Maldon!

I followed that guide, copying over my chipset files to the USB EFI folder (mounted with OC Configurator), which happens to be H97 so "EFIOpenCore Serie 9", replacing all the existing files in the USB EFI folder.

Unfortunately it keeps freezing at the same error.

I went as far as of validating my configuration (see attached) at https://opencore.slowgeek.com and did minor adjustments, yet freezes on that screen.

How can I find out more about the error, like the specific reason?

Thank you

Thanks for the heads up, when you say try combinations you mean to really play with the config settings from other boards/systems that worked for other people until it boots right?

First, try rebuildapplemap set to no, and setupvirtualmap to yes.

If those didnt work, then try applecpupmcfglock to yes, and xcpmcfglock to yes
