Use this boot CD, it should work http://blog.nawcom.com/?p=446 After installing, if the system doesn't boot from HD (still waiting for root device), install this kext http://nawcom.com/osx86/files/10.6/SATA/Intel/IOATAFamily.kext.zip -Guides and Tutorials HERE -Hackintosh Tutorial Database - HERE -The largest EFI folder collection for Hackintosh HERE -Support Olarila Vanilla Hackintosh by making a donation HERE -Professional Consulting for macOS Hackintosh since 2006 HERE
ctuprde Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Drag the kext into /System/Library/Extensions and run Kext Utilityhttp://cvad-mac.narod2.ru/Kext_Utility/ For audio use VoodooHDA (remove AppleHDA to avoid possible kernel panic) http://code.google.com/p/voodoohda/downloads/list For video install Fermi driver (requires 10.6.5 or later) and use GraphicsEnabler=Yes http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro-macosx-256.01.00f03v7-driver.html Okay, got sound working. Still get 'waiting for root device' error when booting from HDD. Do I need to reinstall Chameleon? And those graphics drivers are no good - says unsupported.
taky Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 i used the boot cd with Hazard and iatkos but got same error on detcting boot device

ctuprde Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Just noticed - IOATAFamily is also installed, as well as AppleNForceATA. Would that matter?

oldnapalm Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Looks like a bad kext. Did you extract it from the boot CD? This kext must be installed in /S/L/E, not in /E/E. -Guides and Tutorials HERE -Hackintosh Tutorial Database - HERE -The largest EFI folder collection for Hackintosh HERE -Support Olarila Vanilla Hackintosh by making a donation HERE -Professional Consulting for macOS Hackintosh since 2006 HERE

oldnapalm Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 AppleNForceATA should be enough to avoid the "still waiting for root device" problem, and nForceLAN to have your ethernet card working. Could it be that it is IDE Primary Master?
oldnapalm Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 If it works booting from CD it should work from HD too. Did you choose the correct architecture when unpacking the kexts?
