I did all those steps but it stops at pci configration .. i think thats bec of ich7 ?? any kext to active ? o've snow leopard on vm and i made the installition disk from it

What's the video card? Many people with nVidia Fermi have this problem, I don't think it's about ICH7.

All you should try are AppleNForceATA (or SuperNForceATA) but different versions. Just remove the one you are using, install the new one and run Kext Utility.

Okay, removed AppleATA by moving to trash, installed super and I get this error when booting.

Kext.com nvidia.driver.Super force ata - library kext.com.apple.kernel.iokit not compatible with requested version 9.0.0.

Do I need to find an earlier version or something?

Thanks

Sorry, no idea.

Try the one from InsanelyMac topic.

This is really wierd! Booting from CD everything works fine and that uses AppleNForceATA, but booting from HDD doesnt, and it uses exactly same kext and version?

WTF?

Posted

Are you using IOATAFamily from CD too?

Edit: other thing that can make it work fine booting with CD is that it uses "maxmem=2048" in kernel flags, and these nForce kexts are known to have problems with more than 2 GB of RAM.

This version claims to work with more than 2 GB of RAM

You can find a lot of info about it here

Asus p5ql-e

1- Copy the Extra folder to your boot partition

2- Install Chameleon RC5

3- Run DSDT Auto-Patcher and copy the generated DSDT to the Extra folder

4- Update the system to 10.6.7

ok i have managed to install snow leopard.

copy the extra folder

install Chameleon RC5

install DSDT Auto-Patcher for my motherboard

updated to 10.6.7

and also installed all the kexts

AD1988b

AD2000b

AppleHda

Voodoo Ps2

AppleHdaDisabler

the problems are

1) i can't get into snowleopard without adding -x -v on boot and finally be in safe mode.

2) i can't get access to my ATi 5750

3) i can't use my sound card ASUS XONAR D2 (neither from my on board one)

4) i can only use 2 GB of ram. if i place the other 6 i can't get into snow leopard

1) i can't get into snowleopard without adding -x -v on boot and finally be in safe mode.

Probably related to your video problem.

2) i can't get access to my ATi 5750

If it doesn't work with latest Chameleon, try Kabyl's version

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=231768

or injector kext from netkas

http://netkas.org/?p=465

You may need to use "arch=i386".

3) i can't use my sound card ASUS XONAR D2 (neither from my on board one)

What's the audio codec? You shouldn't install both legacy kexts, just the right one

AD1988b

AD2000b

4) i can only use 2 GB of ram. if i place the other 6 i can't get into snow leopard

Remove dsdt.aml, add RAM and run Auto-Patcher again.

I don't know if this audio card works on Mac OS.

Your on-board audio should work with VoodooHDA

http://code.google.com/p/voodoohda/downloads/list

About video you need to update to 10.6.7, install latest Chameleon (or Kabyl's version) and

lizard.png

Maybe you need "arch=i386" in kernel flags.

Other method is using ATY_Init.kext from netkas site.

You may need to add the device ID to ATI5000Controller.kext/Contents/Info.plist

IOPCIMatch
0xinsert device ID here1002 0x68981002 0x68991002 0x68E01002 0x68E11002 0x68D81002 0x68C01002

Did you check if your device ID is in ATI5000Controller.kext?

If it doesn't work with latest Chameleon, try Kabyl's version or ATY_Init.kext from netkas (in this case you should uncheck Graphics Injection in Lizard).
