kext755 Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Hi I had a problem here: "Run the installers "Extra Lion" and "Chameleon RC5". ... Run the installers "Extra Lion" and "Chameleon". Remember to click on Change Install Location... and select the USB drive as destination, or they will be installed on the running system. With the installer USB ready, boot it and install Lion to an HD partition. I didn't install "Extra Lion" , just Chameleon 2.1 r1544.pkg. After I restarted there is an error booting (error 3F which is a "reserved" error). I see the BIOS splash screen but everything is locked. So is there anything to configure in the BIOS or hardware so Chameleon can boot? I set the SATA Mode to ACHI, anything else? - 1 memory stick? - HPET Mode - 64-bit mode? - ACPI Power mode: Set it to S3(STR) This is the first time I try using Chameleon and I've read a lot but maybe I missed something? Term_s Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 thank you for this guide maldon, its working very nice.
Jedispara Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Just out of curiosity, does this work with a 10.7.2 installer from the app store. More importantly, does the "Extra Lion" work with this version of the installer.
Cassio Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 It should work, but you may need to update mach_kernel in the USB with the one from 10.7.2 InstallESD. -Guides and Tutorials HERE -Hackintosh Tutorial Database - HERE -The largest EFI folder collection for Hackintosh HERE -Support Olarila Vanilla Hackintosh by making a donation HERE -Professional Consulting for macOS Hackintosh since 2006 HERE
vcorle Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 Hi I've got a problem with both Extra and chamaleon install: I can't change Install Location. The first time, in 1st step, I press "Continue" button it jump to "Type of installation" (From 1st step to 3rd one directly), I press "Continue"; then appears "Change Install Location" Button; I press it and I enter in a loop returning to 1st step and when I press again "Continue" Button I return to step with "Change Install Location" Button and again 1st step and again change ... ad infinitum . Of course if I don't press "Change Install Location" Button and press "Install" they are installed on the running system. As I said before I've got the same problem with both Extra Lion and chameleon. I'm trying to do the Lion installation USB stick on a computer with Mac OSX Leopard on VirtualBox on W7. Thanks in advance for your help ok solved. i had to install snow leopard. extra and chamaleon installs don't work with leopard.
