oldnapalm Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Hi Flashe, it may be a problem with the media, try burning in a lower speed or using a CD-R instead of CD-RW. To use HackBoot you can't burn InstallESD.dmg directly to DVD, you have to do what's described in this topic http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=178 -Guides and Tutorials HERE -Hackintosh Tutorial Database - HERE -The largest EFI folder collection for Hackintosh HERE -Support Olarila Vanilla Hackintosh by making a donation HERE -Professional Consulting for macOS Hackintosh since 2006 HERE

AKZam Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Thankyou MaLd0n - out of interest, and if you have time, can you list the patches you applied so I can try and learn how to be a bit more self sufficient. I understand how to use DSDT SE, but don't know how to know which patches to apply. Thanks again, Ill report back with my findings.

ugooh Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Have you tried this?http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=261819 Yes same result.
AKZam Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Yes same result. I have a similar result also (either gets stuck at waiting for DSMOS, DSMOS has arrived), or it progresses past this and the screen goes black with nothing happening. What hardware are you trying on ugooh? Wondering if this is a Sandy Bridge thing.

S_Coaster Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I followed the procedure and i boot from the usb key, it loads all the kexts, and then it hangs/stops where the image is showing. (PCI Configuration Begin..) I tried newer chameleon versions than the ones u recommended the same thing happens, also my BIOS resets everytime i reach that point. Any ideas on how this could be fixed? specs: Mobo: Gigabyte ex58-UD4 CPU: Intel Core i7 940 GPU: Gigabyte GTX560Ti OC 1GB 6 gig of ram

S_Coaster Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 trying it in 20 mins, thank you very much for your swift reply...i will update as soon as i try it!
S_Coaster Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 ok, it worked, thus the installation moved forward, i then got a grey screen with the "beachball" spinning on the top left, and then i got a kernel panic because "no HPETs were found..." I fiddled with my bios settings, tried with both HPET ON @ 32BIT, again @ 64bit and again with HPET completely disabled. still get the same error... do you recommend a different bootloader? error: "No HPETs available...CPU(S) configured incorrectly thank you for your time.

I also tried forceHPET=Yes, still no luck, AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext is becoming a pain in the a** Ok, if i remove that kext along with it's AppleIntelCPUPowerManagementClient.kext, will i be able to move on with the installation? if not, is there a workaround? again, thnx
Administrators MaLd0n Posted August 2, 2011 Author Administrators Posted August 2, 2011 do you use Auto-Patcher? -Guides and Tutorials HERE -Hackintosh Tutorial Database - HERE -The largest EFI folder collection for Hackintosh HERE -Support Olarila Vanilla Hackintosh by making a donation HERE -Professional Hackintosh Support since 2006 HERE
S_Coaster Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 i followed the instructions on the tutorial, meaning i restored the image, copied the contents of "packages" over, installed "EXTRA LION DP4" and then "chameleon" on the target usb. i did not use "Auto Patcher". I tried ForceHPET=Yes but no luck there either (i typed that flag right after the one u gave me for pci, so it looked like "npci=0x2000 ForceHPET=Yes" Other than installing a newer version of chameleon because the versions u attached to your tutorial, when installed on my usb stick, wont even let the computer move from POST, it hangs the entire system as soon as i plug it in (i found a couple of chameleon ver. with the brazilian flag from kexts.com aswell, they all have the same effect, any other version works fine and boots) what's auto patcher? will it help? picture follows:
