thank you for the dsdt.

i just tested it in combination with iboots realtek kexts : ALC8xxHDA & Apple HDA Rollback.

the systemprofiler and audio & midi setup shows the 889, but there is no sound sound on the speakers.

i tried the 2 line outs and the internal speaker, all with no sound output.

could you recommend a specific kext to use with your dsdt?

now i tried several methods from insanelymac threads, even tried it with a efi string - nothing seems to work with the new dsdt.

i attached a screenshot of the relevant audio windows, maybe you can figure something from that?

now i have tried LegacyHDA in Extra/Extensions

and AppleHDA & HDAEnabler in SLE and the systemprofiler shows the device 2 times.

but there is still no sound on any of the line outputs.

i have booted with a linux cd just to see if the hardware is working and to get the codec dump.

thanks for your reply.

i tried this method several times, with and without dsdt.

seems that the pin configuration on my board is not standard, so the kexts doesnt work.

i have tried almost all available kexts for the 889 codec,

but nothing seems to work right.

could you please have a look at the dsdt you made for me and

advise what files i could use to get the sound working on this board?

from my understanding it means that your system has all the edits done already, there is nothing left to optimize.

from my understanding it means that your system has all the edits done already, there is nothing left to optimize.

I believe he means the file is already patched, it's not an original DSDT.

Hi guys,

I having problems recompiling this DSDT from my Biostar TA790GXB A2+. I'm getting a lot of errors. I was trying to get ALC662 to work by adding HDEF to the dsdt but it won't compile even if it's unedited.

Attached is the original/unmodified dsdt.
